europe (08/08/2015) [-] Nah It's just that every now and then you get some wankstain who tries to play the game and fails miserably. He doesn't even try to look at how he should avoid an attack, instead blaming everything on artificial difficulty These buttmunchers were really common when the game first came out. Dark Souls is a game that is just about anything except artificially difficult, so if you're failing at the game, it's entirely your fault This is why these people always receive the same advice git gud scrub #69 -
legolego (08/08/2015) [-] it's true, a lot of people love to overhype the difficulty of souls games. in honesty, they are hard games, but only because they punish mistakes. it's a tough but fair game, but people being used to games that are basically just full length walkthroughs, find it to be more difficult than they're used to. I personally love the games because they're more difficult. makes each instance more challenging and more rewarding. not to mention the fucking amazing lore, depth of character and environmental information, and fantastic enemy design. overall, souls games are amazing, but their difficulty is far overhype "Games from the NES era are harder than Dark Souls. Megaman 1 is harder than Dark Souls" and why is this then? could it be from a similar monotony/incredibly quick death? an old NES game with one shot kills is harder than dark souls yes, but not better. and looking at any and every mega man boss fight, you can't really try talking down to dark souls about repetitive tedium. #55 -
desacabose (08/08/2015) [-] >Circlejerkers circle their jerks about how good it is because it's hard >Dark Souls II "uh the fans only care bout dying we got this" "Ey boss this dog thing we totally didn't rip from the first game is almost as forgettable as the boss we made that's just a giant dude with a sword, what do we do?" "Add toxic rats to try and make it difficult" "what abou-" "Add more enemies" "But si-" "More" that's the thing that makes DS1 so much more fun than DS2, you're able to bait the enemy out 1 at a time and fight them on your own terms, in DS2 you enter a room and every thing gets triggered on to you. Which is silly, because the game is nowhere near as hard as most people claim it is. Shit's a cake walk if you know how the mechanics work. There are people who havebeaten it without using any weapons or armor. You can literally fist bosses to death if you've got decent reflexes and know how the game works. #27 -
haseotakaeda (08/08/2015) [-] Nah, those are just the faggots of the community. The people who are actual fans understand that the game isn't even very difficult, and that the difficulty is certainly nothing to be glorified. It's just a challenging game. The people who are actual fans hold the game in high renown because of its rich lore, interpretive scenery, amazing combat, likable & relate able characters and the feeling of the game's world #87 -
anon (08/08/2015) [-] >Literally 90% of the fans are "LE DARK SOULS IS LE HARD MEME" >"N-no those are just the faggots we're not all like that!" Dark Souls is overhyped shit. Dark Souls is not difficult. Playing it does not make you an "elite gamer" or "hardcore" or anything special. Your entire fandom is cringe worthy autists that think a game being tedious and being able to die in 2 or 3 hits makes it "hard" when games from the NES era are leagues more difficult than Dark Souls will ever be. Have you ever played one of the original Megaman games? That is what difficult is. 90% of the people who post LE DARK SOULS SO HARD PRO PLAYERS ONLY!! bullshit haven't played the game, or played for 30 minutes before quitting #21 -
anon (08/08/2015) [-] My unpopular opinion about dark souls is that if it weren't for the fact that it only comes in hard mode, there would only be a fraction of the people who would like it, compared to how many say they like it now. On another note: The hit boxes are really fucked up several times troughout the gamplay... I can be several feet away from the enemy and it will still kill me. Even if it was not close to me at all. The game may have some note wothy features beside it difficulty, but most of them can be seen in other games and better. #116 -
anon (08/08/2015) [-] Nay, was talking about DS 1 I didn't buy DS2 after that... I was playing and several time got killed by enemies that should have been far to far away from me to be able to kill me... #35 -
hassoutobi (08/08/2015) [-] It doesn't come in ''hard'' mode. It's just challenging by itself ( until you learn that dodging/blocking/parrying is actually important and you can't just fucking butcher everything non-stop without dying). #118 -
hassoutobi (08/08/2015) [-] True. New game + could be considered the actual ''hard'' mode, but most people really need to git gud so they whine about their first playthrough. #73 -
hypocritical (08/08/2015) [-] MFW first playthrough i spent a few months on O&S and NG+ i beat them in a day. i didn't find it NG+ too much harder. Mind you, this was my second time playing through NG/NG+. Once i got my favourite build down, i, for the most part, cleared the game relatively easily, except for the occasional mistake and dodging at wrong times. a lot. You can just buy infinite lifegems, you can easily compared to DS1 beat the game without ever sitting at a bonfire I might try that in a year or so, maybe just before DS3 comes out. I gotta give myself time to "forget" parts of the game for maximum enjoyment yeah, i was stoked about that news. I hope they get rid of other healing aside from estus nope, i'll spare my hype for closer to when it comes out. I've seen the cinematic trailer, but thats it. well, my problem with NG was that i was used to having dark wood grain ring, but didn't pick it up before heading to anor londo. I wasn't about to travel back through sens fortress just to pick it up so i beat O&S without it . With the ring in NG+, i stomped through most of the game; the only boss that i've had trouble with is 4 Kings because i didn't have any light gear with good magic defence, and i couldn't wear both havels and DWG ring . Their damn swing would clip me right before the animation stopped thats what i ended up having, had painted guardian armour and my trusty zweihander+15

| Yeah, Pandaren started as a joke, but they now have a fully fleshed out and honestly pretty interesting lore behind them. I dont get why people cant move past the "it was a joke and its all cute and cuddly and doesnt belong in my grimdark war game!" mentality. They wrote new story. Its pretty good. Theres only so much potential one can milk out of the RTS games before they need to start writing, and they've done pretty well (except Thrall. Fuck Green Jesus). WoD is actually pretty good. The leveling experience is phenomonal, but the issue is that, once you hit 100, the focus on garrisons gates the content and slows you right down. Blizzard already said they plan to change that system for next expansion, though. In hindsight, I think old WoW sucked. Hey, rolling a Warrior? Wanna dps? lol fuck you. You're prot (until naxx when you got gear that made fury viable). Everything was cookie cutter, but tere were a lot of cookie cutter specs that worked depending on what you wanted to do (lock drain tank, control combar rogue, etc), but if you wanted to perform optimally, you picked what was mathematically the best. My biggest issue is that Blizzard has tekn the journey out of WoW and focused on the end game. I can appreciate that, but I just prefer taking time to really get into my character. #172 -
anon (08/07/2015) [-] You are a stupid fanboy if you think the Panderans are well thought out. They are lazily made and ripped straight out of Chinese and Indian folklore. The story has been predictable and bad since WotLK. WoD only had 2 zones that were decent. Almost everything about Dreanor retconned or went against what Dreanor used to be. It was awful.

| Also one more thing: Raiding now is harder than Raiding in Classic, in terms of actual difficulty. Please, if you feel different, link your Armory so I can see your Mythic Archimonde kill. Theres not "*weeks of clicking* oh wow I have top raid gear". Raids now are probably the best they've ever been. Hell, Hellfire Council probably has more mechanics than all of Molten Core put together. #169 -
anon (08/07/2015) [-] Link your prenerf Yogg Saron kill. WoW raids now just as laughably boring now as they used to be. You mistake actually difficulty with lazy artificial difficulty. Most Raids now are just "Don't stand in Shit' runs. Im sorry if you think it takes all that much skill but more power to you. I think you're wrong. I started in 2006, just after Dire Maul was released, and have been on and off ever since. And heres the thing: Does spamming trade chat with LFM (x dungeon), Need healer, full on rogues) for 2 hours, only for everyone needing to run all the way there, and someone occasionally needing to leave when you get there, sound fun? No. it was infuriating. It was boring. It was hours spent and nothing accomplished and no fun had, other than maybe meeting some new people. But you know what you can do now to fight the perceived lack of player interaction people talk about? Fucking TALK TO PEOPLE. LFR and LFG dont magically make you unable to add people to your friends list or realID. If you start a conversation in a random group, people usually respond. If we're being honest, someone complaining of a lack of player interaction really isnt trying. At all. Pre lfg, you were FORCED to interact. Now, its voluntary. In my opinion, the fact that you have to choose to talk to people makes it better, because you're usually talking to someone who also chose to do so and wants to talk. Also yeah, WOTLK was the best, but mostly for content (Uld, ICC, Northrend was the shit). Cata was okay, not good but not negative, but I think MoP was wonderful. Varied dungeons and raids, good encounters, a big, interesting continent. WoD kinda pooped the bed, but I hated garrisons and a lack of things to do in the world at 100 more than issues with the raids or whatnot. I started playing when BC came out, and I was on their until just after the lich king first dropped. I came back for MoP and was super pissed. I've had a huge problem with Pandaren ever since they were put into Wc3. They were made as an April fools joke, and the fact they made an entire expansion based around them was testament to the fact that they killed off all their good antagonists, and had to BS plot at that point. Everything up to WotLK was great, because the background story was supported in Wc2-3, from Illidan to Arthas, you knew the character background. Deathwing had a background, but it wasn't really that great in comparison to the tragic heroes like Illidan and Arthas. After they killed off their semi-interesting antagonist (DW), they just had a fuck-all story. I was excited for the plot of WoD, but I stopped playing like 2 days after it came out, because college. I dunno, I wish it WoW would go back to the glory days, but they've pretty much thrown a bunch of shit into the game that didn't need to be there, and watered down the elements of the game that really made it unique and brought it to the forefront. | Honestly, that should be what you save up your cache for next then. Just a tip. There has been big advancements in Screen tech since then and a new monitor gives way more than being able to run 8x MSAA. I recommend a non-TN panel unless you are looking for a 120/144Hz monitor.

| Why do you have 32GB on what looks like a gaming computer? I also have 32GB but mine serves as a work machine as well as a gaming desktop. Sure, you get a bigger cache but you could have spent the money in better ways. You should have spent it on a new monitor. I should also spend money on a new monitor but yours is not even FHD. What is the point of having a beefy GPU then having a weak monitor? Unless you do GPGPU like me, but that is most unlikely. Honestly, that should be what you save up your cache for next then. Just a tip. There has been big advancements in Screen tech since then and a new monitor gives way more than being able to run 8x MSAA.
