Which has existed for longer, bush tucker or agriculture? Obviously bush tucker has been around for longer and the human race has survived until now, so it makes perfect sense to let nearly every human in the world starve to death because advancements in technology are evil.

idiot.. firstly its human species! and secondly thats like saying that we should just hold our breath because oxygen existed before lungs.. also if you think the first humans where like "oh.. man im hungry.. better organize crops in a field so i can eat" you're retarded! berries, fruit, vegetables, and last but not least Meat!

I never understood the hate towards Christians. If someone wants to hate on a religion hate on Islam. When I visited Saudi Arabia I saw a crowd of people chopping a kids hand off for stealing some bread because he was hungry.
#178 - hebs (04/15/2014) [-]
many atheist hate or dislike religion not religious people.
as long as you're not making your religious views my laws and not contently pushing your religion at me. we would get along just fine.

I've personally never seen the point of worshiping God, nor understood how people could believe the Bible. That's... pretty much the end of what I feel about Christians. It doesn't effect my perspective of someone if they believe in that, unless they're trying to shove it in my face that believing in God is the way to go, like Goverment does with their whole 'And God Bless', trying to please the 'masses' even though the founding fathers never wanted anything like that.

Went off on a tangent there... Bottom line is: As long as you aren't shoving it in my face, I don't care of you're a christian. As an atheist, we hate the religion and what it does. You're probably just talking to a dick if he hates Christians.
User avatar #150 - wilfredfanforever (04/15/2014) [-]
Hey man, don't go throwing that "we" around. A lot of people are atheist because they just prefer science and fact over faith and belief. Not because they hate it.
User avatar #164 - imabeagoodguy (04/15/2014) [-]
I honestly don't see why people have to prefer science and fact over faith and belief. Makes it sound like everyone who has faith in anything/ believes in anything hates logic and refuses to believe facts. Personally I don't see why they can't co-exist. I'm a christian who believes in evolution because I can clearly see that there is truth to it, but at the same time I've seen enough to make me believe in God.
User avatar #165 - wilfredfanforever (04/15/2014) [-]
I'm the same as you, man. I believe in science and fact, yet also believe in a higher power.
User avatar #155 - myjeren (04/15/2014) [-]
Explain how hatred of the religion would not fit into that.
User avatar #159 - wilfredfanforever (04/15/2014) [-]
Just because you don't agree with something or have a different preference doesn't mean you have a burning hatred for it. I'm sure there are people who hate Christianity and are atheist, but that's not always the case. Some people just choose hard facts and evidence provided by award winning scientists that they can rely on as opposed to the men in long white robes who tell you to repent and beg forgiveness for being human.
User avatar #174 - myjeren (04/15/2014) [-]
So you're fine with people believing and accepting the innumerous barbaric acts featured in several brands of religious text? Quit playing pacifist. Religion has fucked a lot of things up.
User avatar #192 - wilfredfanforever (04/15/2014) [-]
I'm not saying it hasn't made shit worse or started some bad shit, and you can't expect anyone to follow everything in religious texts, that's just silly. As long as you are a decent human and do the right thing, that should be fine. Religion has it's pros and cons, just like anything else. Times have changed, mostly anyway. There isn't anymore blood sacrifices or bartering off daughters.
User avatar #140 - LloydIrving (04/15/2014) [-]
"hate the religion and what it does"

But why though? I can understand certain individuals within the religion, but why the whole religion? If believers stuck more to the teachings of Christ, they'd be a lot better for it. Others who find ways to pick and choose/skew the teachings are typically the ones who mess it up for the rest of us anyways.

I really don't see a reason to hate the religion or "what it does" (which I don't even know what you mean by that to be honest), but people are fallible and will do what they do.
#145 - anonymous (04/15/2014) [-]
Encourages intolerance, divides nations and cultures further. Teaches barbaric morals (which people just pick and choose from anyway) such as beating your wife is okay (see Islam). Discourages intellectualism. The basis of most religions seems to be "follow this exclusively or suffer if you don't." No room for questioning, not to mention there are so many logical fallacies and inconsistencies it would take hours to point them all out.
User avatar #144 - myjeren (04/15/2014) [-]
Religion starts wars, provides reason for thousands of crimes, indoctrinates inaccurately, etc etc.
User avatar #191 - LloydIrving (04/15/2014) [-]
People start wars. I can barely remember even one war started solely for religion. Why is the US in the Middle East? Oil, not religion. Why did the Catholic Church start the Inquisitions? Power, not religion. Some of these use religion as a justification, to be sure, but it's almost never the primary driving reason.

Take Christianity. Sure Christians are supposed to believe the Bible as fact, but that does not mean we are to follow every rule pointed out. The whole purpose is to believe in and try to be like Christ., who broke quite a few religious laws himself.

It's not the ideologies presented that are bad, it's the way people try to twist them to their own benefit that is.
User avatar #123 - skrynox (04/15/2014) [-]
