I don't understand electron shielding is all.

I'll keep it nice and simple, because it really is an easy topic.

Electron shielding all starts with the nucleus. The nucleus of any atom is made of protons and neutrons. Protons carry a +1 charge and neutrons a neutral charge. Therefore, the nucleus is purely positive, and more protons = Larger charge. The electrons have opposite charge, -1, and so they orbit around the nucleus because the opposing charges attract. The first energy level of electrons can be 2 electrons, which spin the opposite direction to each other, and then it goes to the next energy level. Shielding is the concept of these electron energy levels changing the ionisation energies and enthalpies of the next electrons. When the energy levels fill with electrons in s, p and d orbitals, there is an increase in the negative charge on the level. So, when the atom is on 1 or 2 protons and electrons, the attractional force is VERY strong. This is because there isn't much keeping the electron from the nucleus. However, as you gain new levels, the electrons are adding together to create a powerful negative charge field. So, when there are more electrons to the energy level, adding more electrons becomes harder. When new energy levels are made, there is more of a negative force stopping the electron joining the nucleus as a full atom, so therefore, more electrons and more energy levels creates negative force which repels the other electrons and makes it harder for them to join on. This coincides with the Hunds Rule, in which the electrons join sub-shells in the same direction first, because their repelling nature causes them to spread and take different areas.

Sure, she's brash, hot-tempered, and arrogant at times, but her heart is usually in the right place. She's got a really strong protective instinct and is an all-around nice person when not in extreme situations. As the series progresses she becomes slightly more mellow and even recants some of her behavior. In the end, the way she deals with Kuvera is more compassionate and forgiving than what she would do before. Towards the end of the series she is a significantly more mature individual than before.
