Meaning you can only get so much milage out of it. The power of orkish psyhic power is also primarily telekenetic, making things move faster, making the firing pin in the gun move even though the trigger isnt connected to it, throwing the bullets out of the gun with a bang even though its just a ball of metal with no gunpowder. The actual ork psychers, the warpheads are the ones who believe they have the power to make things explode, so they do. Something has to be ingrained in the mentality of all orks present for it to actually work. An ork may at some point have thrown a rock believing it would cause an explosion, but since it isnt a belief held by all the other orks, he wasnt able to harness enough energy to actually make it happen. The reason red ones go faster is because at one point a mek made two trucks and one was red, the other yellow. The red one was made in such a way that it was actually faster, and being the idiots they are, the orks looked at the two trucks and concluded that the most obvious difference, the color, was the cause. This then quickly became known in the tribe and actually became true due to their psychic power. This belief then managed to spread amongst all orks, probably because the warboss of the tribe in question defeated all his opponents and lead a great waaagh, causing the "red ones go faster" belief to become common orky knowledge.
