| Yeah, Morrowind had godawful combat. Oblivion was fun, though, and I still play the shit out of (modded) Skyrim from time to time. As for Fallout 3, I love it, and I wouldn't say it's just "reskinned Oblivion". I mean it does share some features, and it is more similar to Oblivion than any of its predecessors, but the differences in combat, story, levelling up/perks system set them apart. Of course, if you just don't like Bethesda's games, there's nothing I can say to change your mind. Still, when I hear someone say that one of those games just sucks, I'll probably throw in my 2 cents on the matter. I think it should be said that a conversation about one's opinion on any form of medium would almost never result in someone "changing their mind". That shouldn't be the point of a debate, discussion or what-have-you. I'm not implying that's what you're saying, by the way, I just think it should be duly noted. As a response to the rest of your comment: "Mmkay." | ||

| That's a big assumption there. No, I love RPGs, I'm just not a big a fan of The Elder Scrolls as a whole. To clarify, I enjoyed my time with Morrowind - it's just that the combat was pretty bad even for it's time. Like I said, it was just a bit of a drag. Daggerfall and Arena had the problem of being too generated and buggy, if they weren't they would've been fantastic RPGs. Oblivion and Skyrim had the misfortune of not only still working off the inherently flawed Morrowind engine, but also being too constrained and feeling like a lesser more simpler product than the previous games, with only marginally better combat systems. Fallout 3, well, it's really just Oblivion with a semi-Fallout skin. Of course, that's just my opinion. Yeah, Morrowind had godawful combat. roooledoulf (01/19/2015) [-] Mate, the developers say its an RPG. Things arnt strictly one thing. You can have Strategy RPGs, you can have Action RPGs, you can have strategy action RPGs. What the actual fuck is wrong with you. Just look at that character sheet, thats literally a RPG character sheet right there are youre literally going to say its not an RPG. Im actually laughing WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK MAN ITS REPEATEDLY CALLED AN RPG BY THE DEVS AND STEAM STORE Yeah I had this whole paragraph thing written up to explain myself, but it's kind of stupid since it's just genre classification. So I'll just restate myself and end this here with something we can both agree on. Mount & Blade isn't just an RPG. There, be free from my nonsense. | ||

roooledoulf (01/19/2015) [-] >Certainly not an RPG. Okay.... 20-30 perks to level up individually STR DEX AGI CHA 6 Weapon masteries to level up Overall character leveling Upgrade troops through troop trees Faction relationships even marriage Individual relations with other generals and kings Manage your own towns and upgrade them Customise gear Tell me again how thats not an RPG >Character leveling. Not an exclusive RPG feature anymore. They are RPG elements certainly, but by that logic games like King's Bounty was count as 'deep RPGs'. >Upgrade troops, faction relationships, individual relations, managing troops. ...Those are strategy-game features you numbskull. The recent Crusader Kings game has all of that, is that an RPG? Granted, this is an argument nobody ever wins, since according to steam and other digital services - every other game from here to Kentucky is an RPG. #1370 -

| Yea I said Tenchi was a nostalgia thing for me, I saw it as a kid on toonami. As I said I haven't seen Space Dandy so I will take your word for it. There were two big issues I had with AoT. First was that they used the dramatic moment thing too much, characters mad big deals and froze in terror too often. Second was the pacing. It starts out at a decent pace but then a couple episodes in it slows down, like really slows down for about a half dozen episodes. Personally I think the show really picked up when you get to see an excursion from the Scout Brigade. The Outlaw Star one was a little depressing to hear though, but understandable. I also saw that one as a kid but I rewatched part of it recently and I still liked it. If you haven't seen it yet, Moribito is good and Seven Samurai was decent. There is a standalone movie (unrelated to any series as far as I know) called Sword of the Stranger and it is almost the pinnacle of smooth animation and choreography in combat scenes. | ||
