What are some of your favorite older games?
I really like the older Fire Emblem games, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms games.

Dude. I fucking love Fire Emblem, I haven't played the SNES games yet but I own a physical copy of the second GBA game, and BOTH rare copies of the Ike duology.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms always interested me too. In a faraway always-take-a-glance-whenever-it's-mentioned kind of thing, mostly because of the original book and all the fan games that spawned around it.

As for the older games I like. I would say stuff like, Fire Emblem 7, Metal Slug, Fallout, Betrayal at Krondor, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Geneforge, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate, Beneath a Steel Sky, Illusion of Gaia, anything-Shin-Megami-Tensei-related, Yakuza, God Hand, Mega Man 2, fuck I could go on.

I just love the shit they pulled off back then.

Nah man... the first Jak game felt really weird to play.. sort of like one of those kids cartoons where there is light violence but never any blood. Jak 2 and 3 were awesome 3d platformers with pretty dynamic game play and a great story. Such a shame that naughty dog hasn't given them any attention though.

There was hardly any 3D platforming at all in Jak 2 & 3, it was mostly guns and cars.

I felt that the story was pretty boring all things considered, I barely even remember them - and I only recently played the HD collection.

Oh yes indeed. I still loved it though.
