peachy
gonna get me some Marco's pizza tomorrow for supper, and there's a PepsiCo sale at my store, $4 off your total when you buy (in quantities of 4) 24 packs of pepsi products, bags of rold gold pretzels, and other marked items, and this is also including their sale price. What would normally be $8.49 for 24 packs of Pepsi products, comes down to $5.

oh yeah, time to stock up!

Sorry, booboo, gotta save up for a timing belt before my car explodes.
User avatar
#36068 - postie (06/09/2016) [-]
How much are timing belts in the US if $31 isn't enough?
#36071 - spojalec (06/09/2016) [-]
Reliable parts plus labor is roughly 400 bucks for a good deal.
User avatar
#36073 - Rei (06/09/2016) [-]
For a fucking timing belt? What the fuck
#36081 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
It's mostly the labor, 100ish for the parts itself, I just don't have the tools or know how to do it myself. It'll probably come out decently cheaper since the mechanic is a family friend.
User avatar
#36099 - Rei (06/10/2016) [-]
This is why you need a father who is a mechanic
#36109 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
Oh my dad knows how, he just doesn't have the patients at all.
User avatar
#36114 - the one and only (06/10/2016) [-]
I helped my dad with my old cars timing belt. Honestly fuck that, never again. Instead i got a car that runs in a chain. Itll maintain itself until i die.

User avatar
#36112 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
He's done other stuff for me, he just isn't interested in doing this and I don't blame him.
User avatar
#36085 - postie (06/10/2016) [-]
Are they just changing the belt itself, or the full works including the pulleys and tensioners etc?
#36088 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
All of it. Doesn't do much good to start the labor and not get it all taken care of.
User avatar
#36089 - postie (06/10/2016) [-]
All of it isn't too bad, but it's still like £100 more than you can get it done here, which is a fair amount. Could get an exhaust for that.
#36090 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
Honestly that doesn't bother me too much since the cars gone an extra 40k miles more than what's recommended on replacing it.
User avatar
#36091 - postie (06/10/2016) [-]
Fair enough.
I've never actually met people who actively get their belts changed. My dads last car was the first time I'd seen a car go in for one. Pretty sure it wasn't the issue too, seeing as the car died not long after getting it done.
#36095 - spojalec (06/10/2016) [-]
Gotta work, have a good one.

Most people who can trade in their car before it's even an issue. I unfortunately don't get that luxury just yet.
User avatar
#36096 - postie (06/10/2016) [-]
He's always had second hand cars. It just never came up as an issue. Possibly good luck.
#36072 - postie (06/09/2016) [-]

#156 - richardhandler (06/09/2016) [-]
Get a coil master jig and practice a few times, it's always easier to keep the coil in the jig while tightening the screws if possible. Temp control coils are harder to do, I use titanium coils and it takes patience but I only change coils every six months or so and they stay clean. Remove the jig and pulse with low power and do a final adjustment before wicking.

#159 - richardhandler (06/09/2016) [-]
Yea same thing, I guess if you like tanks just buying pre made coils is easier. I like using heavier gauge wire than most people so building is my only option and it's cheaper.
