Hey, great to hear that you're back! I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Dusk Village. I'm working on chapter 9 currently, and maybe if I can finish it tonight I'll go over it with my editor tomorrow. Normally we just converse after school, and it's usually just us talking about normal things, but on Thursdays we have elongated meetings that go on for almost 2 hours, and we've made that our official "editing day" where we go over the story together and negotiate changes and corrections. The pressure is on me to try and get each chapter done for Thursday. I have to admit, his feedback is invaluable. I complain about him a lot, but my work wouldn't be nearly as good without him. Granted, it would come out a lot faster, but what can you do. With one on one, real time negotiating, Our combined efforts really do add up to some good work. If I can get on a more regular rhythm, and make these Thursdays my official upload day (not final, just theoretical) I might actually get stuff done right for once. Speaking of which, I'm going to do as much work as I can starting right after this. I was going to catch up on some videos, but that can wait. I'd just really like to do Chapter 9, it's a very significant chapter for setting up the overarching plot.

Funny you should mention, and indeed at this exact moment! I'll have you know I'm writing the first chapter right now, Literally as we speak, and it's going up August 25th, aka this Saturday! Yup, it's that close already!

Let me tell you, friend, the words are just rolling off the tips of my fingers, it's gold! I haven't felt this strongly about a project; this excited; since... well, since chapter 6 of My Daughter Maree, my shortest, sweetest installment of the whole series.

Its a shame I feel this way now, because I know where this story goes eventually.. and while I might not be as excited or happy when I write the later parts, I'll enjoy it in a different way, and I hope I can keep up this level of energy. I figured out how to submit my article to the fim fiction homepage, and got tons more readers and reviews; I finally got some bloody constructive criticism! You'd think that'd be at least slightly easier than that to come by, but no, everyone loved it too much at first, and I had no idea what to think about it!

Now that some of the flaws I made have been pointed out; some obvious, some less so; I feel like I can truly grow and mature as a writer from the experience, and I can tackle the challenge of writing the sequel with twice as much efficiency!

I'll give you fair warning now; the last one was 50,000 words long, broken into 13 chapters. If you thought that was long, then wait'll I tell you about how I won't be surprised if this one goes over 80,000 words. Seriously, it's going to be a long haul for sure. I hope I an count on you to follow me the whole way through, and I hope you enjoy reading my fan fiction even half as much as I enjoy writing it :)

So I'm thinking that there's a real possibility of there being multiple uploads on August 25th. I powered through the first chapter in a 5 hour writing session that might actually mark a new record for longest time spent basically just typing. It just needs to be edited. This is a good thing, because the "beginning" of this story takes, like, 4-5 chapters. It actually took me so long that there's no longer any point in me going to sleep because the suns coming up in a couple hours. Of course, that is also partly due to other things I was doing... anyway, so you can look forward to a couple chapters in one day. Now that's a treat, I don't do that very often at all, back to back uploads... I just want to get as many of them in as I can while there's still summer left, because once school starts, I'll only have about an hour each day to write, and it could take close to a week to write a chapter at that pace.

It's actually quite fascinating... I've always wanted to try and write a novel, but I always looked at book and thought that they're just too big, too long... I didn't think I was capable of writing a fictitious story that filled out that much space. But just recently I took a sample novel; a fairly short one, but still a proper novel; and I took a count of the number of words on a random page, and then I multiplied that by the number of pages... it came out to a little over 80,000 words. "My Daughter Maree" was 50,000, and this will be at least that length again, plus some. That;s well over 100,000 words for a single enclosed story. I can write a novel. It's never before been viewed as a possibility to me before, but now it seems very real... very possible...

i actually continued reading that night it just ended up being 5 in the morning where i lived by the time i finished, and the ending was phenomenal, i really have nothing remotely negative to say about it. Theonly thing i cant really think of is that i personally thought that Paragon would have the same shape as discord (Draconequus) rather than a Alicorn. And even this is just a small thing and its also a personal thought. I enjoyed reading every second of your story.

I personally give this story a 10/10

You needn't hope any longer, only anticipate! A sequel is definitely in the works, and I'm fine tuning the details in my mind at this very moment. It premiers August 25th of this same summer, so be sure to be there!

I got better at writing for Applejack later, and chapter 1 is no indicator of the overall story. It's easily my least favorite chapter, followed closely by chapter 2. I wasn't totally serious about this project until chapter 3 and onwards, because the first 2 I considered to be generic setting chapters, and I borrowed heavily from other fan fictions to get there. Although, if you liked even these not so great early chapters, then that's great news for future readings. Keep up reading, and I'll keep writing them.

oh i know i cant judge the entire story upon the first chapter, the first chapter is normally the worst anyways, i liked it and i think the story has great potential, i have alot of crap to do today so i might be able to read some more tonight.

speaking of things to do tonight, I've got to write more on chapter 11. Don't know if I can get it done tonight, but even if I don't, whatever might be left is a tiny amount of work. I'm half done it. Then it's chapter 12 and 13, and I'm done! Then I take a break for about a month, and i begin to write the sequel. I'm really anticipating the sequel. It's going to be longer and a lot more involved. A few more characters will be introduced, including more original ones and even some real characters from the series that have yet to see any lime-light. The story will center more around Maree, but Rainbow Dash will still have a major supporting role, and so will Twilight. But for now, I shall focus on the task at hand and complete this one.

If you add me as a friend I might be able to accomplish this. If you are serious, though, you might just want to check back every once in a while for yourself, I can easily forget things like this. I'm planning on crunching down and getting it done within the next 8 days, which will be pretty intense since I've waited longer than 8 days between some of these chapters. Still, I'll do my best. Glad to hear someone is interested.

just don't rush my friend wrote a fanfic and it was amazing i loved it but he decide to get it done and rush it and the ending was just terrible so he had decided to rewrite the ending
but so far your doing a great job keep it up

So, have you read the previous chapters then? What do you think, in as many words as possible? I've really only had sporadic remarks about how I'm doing, and I'd get a lot of generic comments like "good job" or "really good" or "omg that I wasn't expecting that" And I've only had one guy who's basically been reading and commenting consistently from the beginning, and I value his opinion, but I'd love to hear more. One thing he hasn't done much of is constructive criticism, so that would help a lot. It's nice to know that I'm doing a good job, but far better to now that there is something I can do to make it even better the next time around.

i understand what you mean i just found out about this fanfic tonight so i haven't gotten far and i would love to tell you and criticized your work i would just much rather do it when im caught up so i can give you a full criticizism and everything i'll probably end up finishing it tonight and i will let you know right away
