I'd use mine, but it's an old(ish) one that's been handded down. It will crash if I set render distance to far for more than 30 seconds. Besides, if I ever hope to master animation, I'm going to need a better computer.

Set render distance to short, reduce CPU max power setting to avoid overheating, use FPS Limiter to force a lower framerate.

mine chokes up a lot, I find putting a ice pack under the fan helps

Mine is a Dell. One of my professors said they are infamous for overheating. An ice pack might not be a bad idea. Do you ever have problems with the condensation?

I dislike Dell. My friend got a computer from them and they improperly installed the SoundCard. I opened it up and was like "oh this is why your sound isn't working, the card isn't even locked into the slot!"

I think they actually make some form of heated pavement that way. That would be sooooo useful.

why not give it a try? go to lose and get some wire mesh (its in the garden section) put it on the pavement, then when it snows dig just enough to expose it in places and place some sort of heater on them.

The system I had in mind involved placing metal plates though the concrete when it's being pored. Kind of like a rear window defroster, but on a larger scale. It would certainly help break up the ice, but I don't have the engineering skills (or the money) to pull of something like that. However, I suppose I could suggest it to someone who does.

Damnit, I don't. I've been meaning to look into using Skype for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to it. It's a shame too, because I just got a new laptop(fairly recently), and it's the first time I've ever had a computer with a working webcam. I had a shitty one for my old computer, but my old desktop was equally shitty and almost unusable by that time.

I think I've got it figured out(unfortunately). Pretty sure I've got some downloading software on my computer that is interfering. A while back, I downloaded a program called DownTango which I later realized was probably malware, so I deleted it. Or so I thought. Now, whenever I try to download skype, I receive a message saying that the file was "DownTangoed", but nothing happens. Not sure what to do at this point except look for a way to remove it completely.
