a replacement for a foot soldier isn't going to be the match for a 61 ton tank obviously. But given the strength of a robotic soldier one could see heavily armed units deployed to combat enemy tanks. I would estimate this at around .5-1 ton and it would be able to do things tanks cant, like duck down an alley or enter a building.

The only problem I see is that the cost of these things is gonna outweigh the benefits. It'll be one or two battles before weak points are found and exploited.

maybe, if you can make them nearly as manneuverable as a soldier i think they would largely hold their own. I mean they could be far more accurate and have quicker reaction times to enemies. Plus a squad of them could act as a single unit

I think the cost to soldiers lives is very high both in terms of lifelong death benefits and in feels. Terrorizing third world countries with our unstoppable robots cant possibly backfire.

it isnt really. But not many soldiers as of now carry them. Plus with a suite of electronics and links to satellites and UAVs flying over, as well as advanced sound triangulation it could instantly return fire to the shooter. With the right sensors and battlefield links it could be far more effective than any human soldier since it could process a ton of data in real time and absorb a lot of damage.

One would heavily armor failure points, like computer components joints and actuators. That and putting in multiple failsafes for each critical part would help it survive most small arms fire, and one would expect it to have heavier support for more damaging threats. Its biggest advantage would be A. it doesnt feel fear or pain and thus doesnt get disabled by noncritical injuries or scares. and B. if hit it doesnt continue to bleed out nor worry about its own self preservation beyond that which it is programmed to feel.
