Well the majority of atheists just walk around like normal creatures, the minority of atheists who talk about secularism you will actually identify as atheists, the rest you won't identify as atheists you will just see them as humans, furthermore you are most likely to hear the atheists who speak the loudest, so it's not fair to say that all atheists are assholes.
Your criticisms are ironic though because it seems you are looking down on atheists and being a know it all to me.

"a group of know it all arseholes"
A question, do you mean antitheists or atheists in general?
User avatar #44985 - eight (11/03/2013) [-]
Either way, it is still an unwarranted insult.
User avatar #44991 - ragnarfag (11/03/2013) [-]

"Nor am I convinced by athiesm"

Well, you can't be convinced of Atheism. If you disagree with all religions, you are an Atheist by definition whether you acknowledge the label or not.

"purely because I don't want to join a group of know it all arseholes who look down on those who take comfort in said religion"

I am not aware of any Atheists that claim to be 'know it all arseholes'. And some of us certainly look down on religions, but we do have a good reason for it.

"all I know is, I'm going to try my best to better myself and those around me, help everyone I can along the way."

General secular beliefs, often accepted by the Atheist community.

"Not belittle those around me for there own views unless I judge them cruel or unkind or unfair...."

Well, many Atheists find certain religious teachings and train of thought as cruel, unkind and unfair, often all at once.

Oh yes because being skeptical towards unsupported justified claims and questioning them totally makes you an asshole by definition, it's also rather amusing that you stereotype atheists as stereotyping people.

If you don't believe in a god you're an atheist, it's that simple.
User avatar #45037 - sirhyden (11/04/2013) [-]
Nope, I never said that, what I ment was the ones who are really out and proud about it, Athiesm to me is having no pride in what you are, it's just choosing to ignore it. The boastful neckbeards is what I was really aiming at.....

I once heard someone say "the Germans was technologically 20 years ahead of the Americans", something I don't agree with.

But if you compare some of the shit the German were researching late-war with what the Americans had early-war there was a clear diverge.

More interestingly, as long as you weren't part of their target group, life was supposedly pretty great under the Nazis. But to be fair their target group was pretty much: Everyone they disagreed with.
User avatar #50 - roninneko (10/30/2013) [-]
While German engineering was certainly quite advanced, its application was badly executed. Their later tanks were overcomplicated, and pretty much everything they manufactured for the war effort was insanely expensive to produce.

In reality, while their engineering was arguably the most advanced in Europe, they were actually the least mechanized force of the war.
#36 - sirhyden (10/30/2013) [-]
Depends on which subject of warfare you talk about, Sea, no they were completely outgunned. Air, from a tech standpoint yes, but on the training of crew, crew availibility fuel availablity and quality of all the above, no. If the war had went on and the 229 had entered production it would have been flown by teenagers who had never even flown a powered aircraft before. The Germans were ahead but it was closer to 3 years rather than 20. And in the end it was supior numbers of P-51's and Spitfires that gained air supremecy....

User avatar #92 - dildobarbarian (10/29/2013) [-]
when you read, you want to have silence and a quiet place (hence why libraries are how they are with their rules) being amongst the public while reading is so un-focusing and too many distractions to fully concentrate on the book at hand. Kindles are the most pointless thing of the 21st century.
