 asriel says to your face that chara tried to kill everyone at the end of pacifist, and then chara forces you to destroy the world if you refuse at the end of genocide  well, their plan, including asriel, was to cross the barrier and obtain enough human souls (as in kill people) to free the monsters. asriel backed down at the last minute though, restraining their power and becoming mortally wounded. I believe that chara becomes the way he is at the end of the genocide run as a result of the player's actions, as A. it's implied that the player and chara are the same entities, and B. you have to go on a murderous rampage, killing every single living thing in possible, from the moment you start the game. That last fact is important because if you spare even one creature (or didnt spend your time tracking every single one down), mettaton himself basically says "you're not entirely evil, or you would have given it your all," and completely negates the genocide route. it's what initiates the whole "erase the world" mentality with chara at the end. | ||

All the talk about The Elder Scrolls MMO made me want to play a little WoW again, but I won't dare pay for it and the only good private server I know won't work properly with the mods I want to use.
It's possible to make my favorite mod work, but that'd take a lot of effort for something I'll probably get tired of after a few days.
And I never found Borderlands to be interesting. Just wasn't for me
