Unless you give a link, I can't say much because I'm too lazy to look but knowing PETA it's probably more because of the shit they pull like breaking into properties rather than the shit they say.

Yeah, it should be a public case. If you're going to advocate that people be forcibly silenced because they're factually wrong in a political argument then people should rightfully be scared and upset.

That's some tyrannical stuff right there.

No, I mean legally. I don't think you could find a lawyer anywhere to hear your arguments in court, seeing as how political speech is protected in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. They'd find some loop hole to jump through so they wouldn't have to even try the case, because they know they'd lose. Whether it's them saying that the laws don't apply to political speech, protest not being a form of advertising, or something.
User avatar #212 - sircontagious (08/16/2014) [-]
the problem with that is, while it sounds correct, lawyers will typically do the opposite, and because it will become a public case, the ruling will be completely decided by the public, which will be decided due to terribly misinforming media.

Then either the laws are so narrowly defined as to not be applicable to anything or it doesn't apply to political speech. Otherwise, every politician would be rotting behind bars.

I am pretty sure that laws against false advertising only applies when it comes to the exchange of goods and services. The thing they are doing is just free speech
