It's great that you own a gun. I really don't care, hell I come from a hunting family. But assault weapons shouldn't be legal. Look in the name of the weapon- it's meant for use in an assault. It's not called a hunting gun, nor a recreational gun, but an assault gun. Weapons made for the sole purpose to kill people shouldn't be in the hands of the public, even if it claims to only want these guns because they're fun to shoot.

ok lets go with that, you let the government ban assault weapons boom poof gone from any law abiding person now lets say that the people that don't follow the rules still have assault rifles then what? the people you didn't want having guns like that still have them and the people who just own them because they have the freedom to do so don't.
