Well, as I mentioned, we were playind DrD (Draci doupe - it literally tanslates to "Dragon's lair"), which is a czech version of D&D - we don't have translated version of D&D in my country (although I played D&D based off the english rules a few times in here).

Anyway, the combat system is a bit simplified, since you roll only once d6 for any weapon. Your weapon has a "attack number" stat which you add to the roll, adding the strength modifier aswell (for the melee weapons, for ranged you add the agility modifier). The defender rolls d6 aswell and adds his "defense number" stat, which is base off agility and armor. If you manage to hit, you deal the damage that "got through" (for example, if your roll 5 and have an attack modifier of +3, and your oponent rolls 2 and has a defense modifier +3, you deal three damage). There's also a "damage number" stat that some weapons have (it can also be negative), which essentially midfies the damage received. Weapons, that are easy to hit with (sabers, for example) have high "attack number" and (often) negative damage "number", weapons that are harder to land a hit, but when you do it hurts (axes, clubs) have lower "attack number" but larger "damage number". There are also some weapons that grant you boost to your "defense number" (such as polearms and dual weapons).

Anywho, if you roll six, it is a critical hit and you are able to roll again and add that up to your previous roll(s). It can lead to ridiculous crits on attack and defense, when you roll several sixes, and this can prove quite a problem early in the game where most characters have low hp and thus even a weak creature with a lucky roll is able to one-shot one of the players. But usually PJs (the DrD version of DM) moderate that somehow, so there is not too much unnecessary wipes.

Last thing, there are different races in DrD. The hobbits kinda substitute the halflings, you got "krolls" instead of half-orcs (essentially the same), you got the "barbarian" race (which are the stronger, tougher, dumber and uglier version of humans) and kuduks (which are a racial cross between dwarfs and hobbits).

A chick in one of my classes said something like that. Like, "My sons a cancer so yeah, they get along."
It infuriates me how some people think that the day that you were born and the planetary alignment at that point in time somehow determines your personality, and what it will be for the rest of your life.

Well I don't know why anyone would talk to someone on a machine. All I'm saying is if she's doing a gentle jog and you're on a tready next to her, why not strike up a conversation?
