Exactly.
It's funny when the people who believe that is rape are the same people advocating for female equality, when they are adhering to something that puts them below everyone else. If females can be harmed so easily, they are not equal.
Here's what I say; men are equal to women, women are equal to men, but they are all better than feminists, because if you're a feminist, you're fucking disabled. You have a disability that allowed you to believe in something so illogical.
User avatar #547 - simplygabriele (04/26/2013) [-]
Absolutely. Especially when all the attention given to sex-crimes is always pointed at female victims. They absolutely ignore female on male rape (either because they really believe that men are "disgusting pigs", that literally always want sex from everyone, or simply because they don't want to accept the fact that women are just as physically and emotionally violent as men are, especially in relationships). Sexually assaulted boys and men are usually just told to man up and tough it out or otherwise tucked away from view. Girls and women get all the support, cause apparently THEIR lives were ruined, only they are emotionally shattered. That implies that women are emotionally and mentally weaker or at least they're expected to be so. If not, why would they need the special treatment, when males get nothing or close to nothing?

I think it is a remnant of more well defined gender roles. But feminists are doing nothing to dispel it. They just make bullshit assault accusations (I've seen rants from feminists about how they need to walk in groups, cause otherwise they're assaulted. And by that they mean, some guy smiles at them and asks their number, or other small-talk.). It has become more of a "I'M A WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR YOU MALE SCUM!" screaming match than any kind of movement.

Simply put: He is a male, and as such he has two heads. The only problem is that he only has enough blood to run one at a time. It's a common flaw with most of us, and we usually do a pretty good job of ignoring it.

I think we can agree that it's something that would hurt men and woman, but we disagree to how much actually exist. Granted, sexism has died down since the "housewife" era, but that doesn't mean it has disappeared.

I think you missed my point about the rape. I meant that society looks at rape as a "woman's issue." Partly that's because it happens mostly to woman, but there is a huge stigma surrounding it. Why should it affect his or anyone's honor? It does in today's world, but it shouldn't. It's not a dishonor if someone gets murdered, so why rape? Especially with men.
User avatar #21 - simplygabriele (04/13/2013) [-]
I agree. And the dishonor part, especially the whole lot about bringing dishonor to the family and what not, is mostly an issue that was in the past. But I agree that rape in today's society has this huge bubble of bullshit around it. From one side there are people who try to do a sort of slut shaming, especially if the girl was drunk and then used as a sex toy. On the other side there are feminazis and other over the board PC people who claim stuff like watching porn or making catcalls equals as rape.

And, of course, there's to whole area of male rape or sexual assault that is widely ignored. I do think though, that it's so pushed aside because of the whole myth that men are such horndogs. So horny and sex oriented that they MUST like sex in whatever circumstance it comes in. And that's the biggest fairytale of today, in my opinion. I honestly believe that mentally and emotionally men and women have a lot less differences than society likes to portray. Simply because the vast majority of men don't ever report or talk about their sexual assaults does not mean they're not as hurt as women are.
But I'm going on a tirade again, so I'll just stop here.

Well, exactly. No one can be the picture of perfect. Why do you think so many men are afraid to show emotions or are ridiculed for it, for example?

To be honest, I don't really see your point. I strongly believe that anyone in a marriage should be prepared should their partner leave in anyway.

And it sucking for everyone is kind of the point I'm making. If a man gets raped or abused, he's even more likely to keep quiet than a woman because it's a "woman's issue." He's supposed to be strong- stronger than a woman. All aspects of inherit physical strength aside, abuse can happen to anyone.
And if a man wears womans clothes? Oh jesus no. If a woman wears mans clothes? No one gives a shit because the woman isn't "degrading herself" like the man is.
User avatar #19 - simplygabriele (04/12/2013) [-]
The point was that such a system does not really exist and has never existed, especially to the point that feminists claim. Sure, there are and have been sexist aspects of our social and cultural life, and they've swung both ways. Nowadays most of the anti-women sexism, especially institutionalized sexism, is gone (in the "western' world, at least). But the aspects that benefit women remain. In the same way, men have lost their favoritism, while some harsh remnants of anti male sexism remain. Of course, those come more in a form of "what's cool" and what's considered a success, rather than what you MUST do.Except for the draft, that is.
And the point about marriage was that, for example, in a patriarchal society a man is considered a complete loser and a disappointment if he can't adequately support his family and it does not matter if it's really his fault. His wife in that case bears no societal pressures. She's just a poor woman who happened to be married to a loser (not her choice or fault), someone to feel sad about. She's not expected to be self supporting, no way. The only possible way for a woman to have her own income in a patriarchy is to be a widow or inherit her parent's wealth.

And female rape would be a man's problem - it's his honor, his family, pretty much his property that is damaged.

But you seem to be looking at a warped image of today's society, that only has these passing specks of sexist prejudices. I was talking about situations in the past and the general idea of what patriarchy would be (and what feminist claim it was and still is).

#20 - youarenotspecial (04/12/2013) [-]

Quick question

Lost on a desert island you strangely stumble apon a monster big screen and all consoles available and a massive computer system a magical creature appears and gives you the games below as choices and you can only choose one . You will end up playing this game till the end of time what will your choice be ?

(any of the series)
T.E.S
Zelda
Might and Magic
Final Fantasy
Dragon Age
Dragons Dogma
Darksiders
Lost Souls
Dungeon Siege
Halo
Diablo
Mass Affect
Fable
Prototype

This will affect my opinion of you if you choose one of the 3 i like you would get a friend request which means nothing

Random weird post of the day done :)

It's not a quick question it's on of the existential debates of this century!

Anyway, first I'd have to narrow it down to the games I like and have played and that offer at least some replayability with different paths and choices. So for me it would be T.E.S, Dragon Age, Diablo and Mass Effect.

Now, again, I go back to replayability. Diablo (I'd choose Diablo II: Lord of Destruction) has probably the lowest amount of replayability from my choices. Of course, there are different characters and builds to try, but the game itself is extremely linear, so I think I'd have to pass.

Mass Effect has the huge problem of being a trilogy, so having only one of the games would be rather annoying. Aside from that, it has a pretty low level of replayability too, in my opinion. The main differences are the paragon/renegade/mixed paths and whether you try to ensure your teams survival or let them die. After 3-4 playthroughs you'd have nothing to do.

Dragon age (Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition is the only one I have and I LOVED it) has similar problems - while there the differences of race/birth circumstances and you can have the different romantic possibilities, it would run dry after about 6 full playthroughs.

So I think I'd have to go with T.E.S. Now, there's the problem of which one to choose. The one I've played most is Skyrim. Sadly, I'd only pick it if I could have all the mods of my choice. If not, I'd go with Oblivion. I've tried Morrowind, and it's a very expansive game, but I just couldn't get over the clunky game engine. So, sad face.

Other than the games you mentioned I'd consider Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines and Minecraft.

Great answer and you deserve the title of gamer im very impressed , your answer itself is very narrow however as you explained you haven't played them all . TES is a great choice in regards to the amount of time you can play and replay. All of theese are fantasy RPG and i am a huge fantasy RPG player and have all titles above mentioned. These would've been my choices any of the 3 would've worked , if you want me to explain please ask im sending a friend request fellow gamer and rare beat of gamer girl

TES : Online
Final Fantasy 7
Dragon age 2 or 3 if it was released by then
User avatar #43 to #42 - simplygabriele (04/04/2013) [-]
I haven't fiddled with TES:Online yet, but I expect it to be at least worth a try. I wasn't so sure about the faction-only territories and I have doubts about how they'll implement crafting into the game. There's also the thing about only one potion slot, which I find rather bizarre, especially since I usually end up playing some sort of a spellsword, so I'd need both magicka and health, even putting aside all the special effect potions.

I've heard a lot of good things about Dragon age 2, but I haven't gotten my hands on it, so I couldn't really judge it. And Final Fantasy... I don't know, I'd want to start with the first one, but the series never really caught my attention.

I know one game out of your list I really wouldn't pick. Halo. I just don't really like shooters, especially "that" kind of shooters. I enjoyed games with shooter elements like Mass Effect or Dead Space, but in my opinion, they offer a lot more in story and gameplay than just shooting.
User avatar #44 to #43 - afrikaner (04/05/2013) [-]
if i wasnt already engaged i would've said im in love but seeing that i am , your awesome Halo was in there to see what you say , like i said im a hardcore RPG fantasy gamer and i only play games like my list . TES online has a lot of potential and is currently in BETA so hopefully they will see the problems before releasing it fully. Dragon age 2 has recently reached my number 1 spot on total hours played it is really one of the best and im looking forward to number 3 which looks like just brilliant.

Online is already in BETA so you can play it now . Uhmmm im not gonna say may hours cause that is just sad but lets say it this way on skyrim i had 5 characters with individual levels of 76 , 64 , 51 , 28 and 26 Tank , Tank , Rogue , Mage and a random character to play the expansions i got. Now on my 5 th play trough of Dragon Age 2 i have exceeded my play time of Skyrim.
