Very interesting. But what about the holes in the O3 layer of the atmosphere?
#43 - shroomsandcocaine (12/18/2012) [-]
I wouldn't say that holes in the atmosphere affect global warming as such, yes they allow more UV light through, but this is more of a hazard to organisms, rather than being a factor in global warming

Global warming is real, but what most people mean with global warming is what's actually called amplified global warming. Wich is a hype (although it's true we can't deny the fact cars producre greenhouse gasses, but it doesn't really make a difference)

I haven't heard of amplified global warming, but what i would say is that people are wrong when they say we are the reason that it is happening and that us "changing our ways" will have any impact in the rate at which the planet is warming. Global temperature's used to be up in the 20 degrees Celsius, whereas now it is less than 5 degrees Celsius (I am not giving an exact temperature as there is always debate over global temperatures)

the percentage of CO2 produced by burning fossil fuels is minimal compared to what nature itself produces.. one volcano eruption may produce more CO2 than all the fossil fuels that have been burnt during the last centuries..
#21 - shroomsandcocaine (12/18/2012) [-]
That is very true, on average every year nature produces around 200 billion tonnes of CO2, and we produce around 7 billion tonnes. However, this does not mean that global warming is a hype. We are impacting very little to cause global warming, but it IS happening. We are in currently in an interglacial stage of an ice age, where the planet is getting warmer. So I am sorry to say that you are wrong with saying that global warming is a hype, but saying it is not mostly down to us is true
