the game is played quite ferociously in competitive modes, so much to the point that there are "meta" strategies to the game now. One of those is to, at the beginning of the round, throw a smoke grenade into "mid", which is usually a long hallway/corridor/alley/road/whatever, that has a visible sight line from one teams spawn side to the other. The smoke blocks visions and keeps the other team from sniping you.
