I have a mutated heart (resulting in a permanent irregular heartbeat), and a mutated skeletal structure (Some of my joints don't line up properly so I can dislocate most of my body at will, my rib-cage is an irregular shape, and my bones are slightly more bladed/protruding than they should be)...

As more my mental abnormalities... I'll just give an example (Warning, you WILL lose sanity points by reading this). A few days ago I had a dream that I was fighting some sort of immortal cross-breed of an Illithid (aka: Mind Flayer. Dungeons and Dragons) and an Alien (Alien vs Predator). I just started laughing like a maniac, lunged at it and tore it's throat out with my teeth. I then grabbed it's face-tentacles and pulled in opposite directions until it's face was split in half. I then reached into it's throat-hole that I made, grabbed it's spine, and stepped on it's head and chest while trying to pull the spine out. Still laughing, I eventually pulled out it's spine (complete with it's skull, and a few ribs), and used it as a spear impaling it through the heart with it's own spine. I then proceeded to stomp on the skull part of my weapon until it's spine had been completely nailed into the ground, pinning my victim down. I then tore out one of it's ribs, and used it as a pike to break into it's skull and stab and it's brain. Keep in mind this thing was immortal, so it was still alive after all this, and felt everything.

Even if you think I may be lying about having a dream like this, keep in mind that I am still disturbed enough to come up with such a thing in order to type it out in the first place.

Yeah. You kinda remind me of Rin, since she doesn't really mind about her disability either. It's not like she can change it, so she just lives with it.

I haven't gotten around to Rin's route yet. I've only seen Shizune's good and bad, Emi's good, and Hanako's Good routes. I have been meaning to do Rin's route next, but I just haven't felt like playing a VN lately.

I wished I did Hanako's route while I still had time. Now I'm afraid it's too late for me to reopen the game.

I can't handle it. Not in my current mental state. I'm not well, and even more bonds to fictional characters I can never meet won't help me in the slightest. Actually, the good endings are the toughest ones on me, because they show what I could never achieve.
User avatar #22 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
But if you didn't achieve them, how could you get those endings? Real or not, you're the one doing things. Go ahead and do it. If you want to relate the game to reality, go ahead. If you want to keep them separate, do that. but don't let one take away your enjoyment of the other.
User avatar #23 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]
I can't place myself in Hisao's place because we're simply too different. I don't understand his problems, and I find that he's way too simple in his way of thinking (he's a fictional character, of course he's simple). So I can only see what he achieves and be bitter that I could never feel those feelings.
User avatar #24 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
Quite the pessimistic one aren't you? Well, I'm not you, so I can't give any definite advice to whatever problem you're having... but I will say this: a hobby you can enjoy will go a long way.

Yes. So much yes.

At some point the Government commissions a team of scientists to create something better than hyperdrive, and ends up with interuniversal communication. I even have a lab to do it in, thanks to one of my favorite RPs. Anyway, it eventually gets to the public, and a young former soldier, 17-year-old Varan Niers, starts messing around with it. Oh, I forgot to mention that people 16 and over are effectively considered adults. War, cigarettes, porn, and everything.

You didn't say no. If it worked with Hanako...

So a few years ago my friend showed me a game/site called NationStates. You create a nation, do a survey to determine you beginning government type, and deal with national issues. The rest is all forums. Some of them are RPs, others are factbooks that describe the nation in ridiculous detail, and some are completely out-of-character nuthouses. Fun times. I then stuck to a group of a couple nations whose players were very good RPers, and over time I've developed my history and skills.

About 3 billion years ago on a gas giant called Garzah in some other galaxy, the first civilization developed. That's the Government-approved story, anyway, and so is the rest of this account. The natives called themselves Gelzeh, and were, in short, hydrogen-filled, six-tentacled predatory floating octopi. They finally got their shit together and united after only one war. Nevermind the fact that that war wiped out about half of the planet's population. Over the next few billion years, they got into space, explored, met aliens, and exterminated the ones they didn't like, conquering the rest. About 1.6 billion years ago, they controlled nearly all of the universe, and once their society-completely built on war-was at peace, it began to crumble immediately, and after only a few million years (think of the distance), the Garzian Empire was reduced to an arm of their galaxy. Some religious stuff happened, and then some wars to try to retake lost space, but they were still stuck in that one galaxy. About 2000 years ago, yet another war broke out, but it was so intense and hellish that not only was Garzah burned and hidden from the universe, but the galaxy itself was in tatters, with stars being used as enormous bombs. The Gelzeh, however, escaped, and used the very-risky time drive to get the hell out of there.

They ended up on a planet that we have yet to name, and apparently 2000 years in the future. The planet was in its medieval period, and the Gelzeh quickly crushed an island in the middle of an ocean. Once the human population was subdued, no one went in or out of there for over a millennium.

In the planet's 20th century, the new Garzian Empire finally interacted with the world, got involved with wars, etc., and got a reputation as uncivilized barbarians who are always eager to commit a war crime. In 1945, a human revolution broke out after more than a thousand years of oppression, and after only a few months the Gelzeh were driven off the planet and into space, and that's where I left them for now. The humans left there, meanwhile, had a lot of rebuilding to do, because the violence of a world war was concentrated into a few months and one small country. And then there were some wars again.

So that's basically the abridged version, and if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. What do you think?

Some people call me pessimistic, but that's just what an optimist calls a realist. I'm simply facing the facts that I don't work. Also, I have several different hobbies, but I have nothing I'm really good at, so it's all just kinda creative masturbation leading to nothing good, I'm afraid.
User avatar #26 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
A pessimist is a realist that uses negativity as the base of their actions. An Optimist is a realist that uses Positivity as the base of their actions. For example:
Pessimism is knowing that the odds of you developing and dying of cancer is about 1 in 8.
Optimism is knowing that how you die doesn't matter.

I'm about half-way between a Realist and an Optimist: There are so many ways to die, and I'm more likely to die young than most people, so what point is there to worry about every little thing?

Hobbies don't have to be meaningful, they just have to be enjoyable.
User avatar #29 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
But it's optimistic to assume that realism is pessimistic, because that would imply that what I believe is realistic is actually pessimistic. So if you think my realistic point of view is pessimistic, that would make you an optimist, because you believe that I have a too dark outlook on life.
And I don't know man, I can usually stay positive about most things relating to myself, but as soon as other people enters the equation, I always fuck up. Always. It's only a matter of time before I scare everyone away again.

I'm calling you pessimistic because you're giving up, not because I think realism is pessimistic. You've been rejecting everything I'm saying because you no longer want to try, rather than not being able to. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, and you actually are permanently screwed for life: but from what you've said so far, ti doesn't give that impression. If you keep failing, try going at it a different way. If what you normally do pushes people away, act as confident as you can that they can't leave without you. It may not work at first, but practice helps.

It may not be related to the topic at hand, but I used to be that really annoying kid that acted like he was better than everyone else (and knew everything) that everyone hated. I decided when I started highschool "Alright, what happens if I start acting like the exact opposite of what I normally do...?" I became able to talk to everyone normally, and eventually my acting and true personality merged, allowing me to do pretty much anything without worrying about it (probably due to becoming my own opposite personality-wise made me more flexible). Well to get technical, we're all mutants. And I can relate to feeling extremely mentally abnormal
User avatar #12 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #20 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
why?
User avatar #21 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]

Oh, I ran into Hanako on your status. I almost had a fun, insane conversation, but I'm still waiting on a reply. I'm also wondering whether or not to go full-throttle RP mode, because I've really been holding back. Of course, for my character to work I have to drag in aliens, an alternate universe, and shittons of tanks.
User avatar #9 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]
Of course!
Roleplaying can be fun, I like joining in on Katawa Shoujo roleplaying on Facebook.
User avatar #10 - impaledsandwich (01/04/2013) [-]
Then it's decided! Aliens, time travel, and genocide, all to justify a character!

I should really think of some Earth-compatible characters.
User avatar #11 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]
Possibly. It's kinda weird when used in Katawa Shoujo context
User avatar #12 - impaledsandwich (01/04/2013) [-]
I mean, those things are just the backstory. In normal conversation they almost certainly wouldn't come up, but to explain why he's/I'm here would require such a twisting of the world that... that... that I'd run out of metaphors. At least he's/I'm human, though, if a bit shell-shocked and lacerated. Fuck it, if you're interested I could give you a backstory to my backstory, but it would take a little while.

Fun times. User avatar #16 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
I nearly shit bricks when I was reading the main character's backstory. XD
#17 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]
Yeah. You kinda remind me of Rin, since she doesn't really mind about her disability either. It's not like she can change it, so she just lives with it.
User avatar #18 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
I haven't gotten around to Rin's route yet. I've only seen Shizune's good and bad, Emi's good, and Hanako's Good routes. I have been meaning to do Rin's route next, but I just haven't felt like playing a VN lately.
User avatar #19 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]
I wished I did Hanako's route while I still had time. Now I'm afraid it's too late for me to reopen the game.
User avatar #20 - Nihatclodra (01/04/2013) [-]
why?
User avatar #21 - sheepyhead (01/04/2013) [-]

Woot, sounds really interesting :o
User avatar #16 - impaledsandwich (01/04/2013) [-]

Oh, I forgot to mention that people 16 and over are effectively considered adults. War, cigarettes, porn, and everything.

I pretty much started playing the guitar by myself, looking up tabs and practicing chords. Then I found some guy who taught me some things for about a year or so. And now I'm just self-taught. It's not that difficult to be self-taught, but it's a good idea to have some theory to lean up against.

I've always wondered, this community we have for KS. Is this how brony's feel like with their mlp board? Probably not, but what do you think?
User avatar #25 to #24 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]
Iunno. I think bronies have more obnoxious fans, and I like Katawa Shoujo much better than MLP. I think the stories and morals of Katawa Shoujo are much more complex and mature, and grants great feels, but I'm sure some people gets something sensible out of MLP too.
User avatar #26 to #25 - bayakpo **User deleted account** (01/08/2013) [-]
I watched the 1st few episodes of MLP. All the brony's are telling me "bro, you have to watch more to get a feel". Lol, well if the show goes on the way it does then it's not my cup of tea. And yes your words couldnt have been said any better. Something deep and complex is really worth it, and I enjoyed KS cause of that :DD
User avatar #27 to #26 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]
I think it's interesting that people has created such a big fan community over basically nothing, and bronies can be pretty creative individuals. Still, I don't see anything more in MLP than a silly children's cartoon. Nothing wrong with that, I enjoy other children's cartoons and it gets a chuckle out of me. It's great for tuning your brain out for a bit. Still, it doesn't even reach an iota of the epicness that Katawa Shoujo contains.
I actually thought up my own little fanfic of it, placing myself in Hisao's place. Needless to say, it makes me feel like I'll never get out and live that life myself, so I'll just keep dreaming about the life I'll never have.
User avatar #28 to #27 - bayakpo **User deleted account** (01/08/2013) [-]
We need an ask-a-brony moment. Give them some questions. Hmmmm, I'll let you know what my friend thinks, he's a brony and I can ask him some questions in a week.

Now see, thats what I liked about KS. When you start to dream, think, and feel things around you because of the VN. It really just affects you and played it's role well in telling a great story. I like thinking, good stuff to think about to. I sometimes ask myself for example "if i'm doing the right thing". I questioned Hanako and ended up on a neutral route. And so I found myself protecting her more. And with Rin I pushed her away with a neutral route as well, not know what was best in the end T_T
User avatar #29 to #28 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]
Yeah, those thoughts would be great to improve your friendships and your relationship, if you had any of that. But without both, they're just thoughts. Dreams. Of a world that you'll never see. A world of trust, friendship and love. Mutual feelings that no one will ever want to share with me. Why would they? I just sit here.
User avatar #30 to #29 - bayakpo **User deleted account** (01/08/2013) [-]
FUCK THAT! I LIKE FANTASIZING DREAM AND IMAGINING THINGS. See a girl across the street, imagine I'm talking to her. Unfortunately I'm too busy for relationships so to me this is pretty much all I can do. But hey, if you keep dreaming, you know what you want in a relationship, and therefore you get to know yourself better =P
User avatar #31 to #30 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]
But what I want doesn't exist. It's an egocentric dream based on an ideal world where someone out there not only shares my ideals, but meets me, catches an interest in me and is attracted to me. And this just won't happen. Not even chaos theory is that improbable.
User avatar #32 to #31 - bayakpo **User deleted account** (01/08/2013) [-]
Though it might not be drool, something one day will trigger some attraction between you and someone. For me, my weakness for a girl is if I see her passionate for something. Sorta like Emi and Rin. They do what they do because they like it and enjoy it. So if I see a girl that has a passion for dancing hip-hop, draw anime in their own world, play music for the pleasure of pure enjoyment, it's really really iunno, magical. Find that person man! Go out, walk around the city and just observe the people around. xD
User avatar #33 to #32 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]
You know that's not how it works. You don't just walk around and meet people, people outside have something to do, somewhere to go. Much better people to meet. I try my best when I meet new people, but somehow it just doesn't change anything, leading me to believe that my dream is no more than that. Just another silly dream dreamt up by a lonely virgin excuse for a human being, living in his room.
User avatar #34 to #33 - bayakpo **User deleted account** (01/08/2013) [-]
Dont have to meet. Exploreeeeee the world. It's beautiful world out there. Except today. It's raining and I dont want to go outside. >_>
User avatar #35 to #34 - sheepyhead (01/08/2013) [-]

I'm afraid facepunching me won't solve my issues, like it did with Simon.

I didn't post anything, magical fairy princess is just a retard. And even if he found a single picture somewhere, ten days complete ban without warning is too harsh, and won't accomplish anything, especially since I don't know what I did wrong.
User avatar #5 to #4 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
well, atleast it's not perma b&

but still, it's better to give somekind of warning or notification which comment is get flagged or reported

but if i remember correctly, i do get message from admon when i'm about getting banned back then, it's filled with link to be said comment
User avatar #6 to #5 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
Well I didn't, so fuck that shit. Seriously, that's like 70% of my social life.
#7 to #6 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
now now

let's put aside this grim topic

how are you today?
#8 to #7 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
Well I just came back from the very first exercise on Emi's running schedule c:
And I'm watching Batman when I should be doing math.
User avatar #9 to #8 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
ah i see, hm.,., give each day some "rest days" each week, it's not wise to do it for 3 days straight

joy -> work
you got your priority right
User avatar #10 to #9 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
I know, I'll rest for at least a day, but here an hour after, I'm not feeling as bad as I'd feared. I guess my regular biking brought my stamina up a bit, especially in my legs.
I need to finish this math before 20:00 Sunday though. I know I can do it if I try, the question is whether I can try hard enough. Oh well, I always pull through
#11 to #10 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
well, if i'm too lazy, i will just ask some of my colleague to seed their works
haha

User avatar #12 to #11 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
Huehuehue. That wouldn't work though, because all of my friends suck. They do maths well, but I wouldn't be able to survive handing something in with as bad grammar as they use. No thanks, I keep my own quality up c:
#13 to #12 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
well, that's the risk if you want to enjoy your tiem to the fullest

User avatar #14 to #13 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
The risk is, that I can't go to the university I want, but you're right, there isn't much risk of that. I just like to do my homework c:
I guess it's a sense of responsibility that's just natural to me
User avatar #15 to #14 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
by the way, you gonna rec yourself playing guitar or no?
User avatar #16 to #15 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
I tried. It didn't go well.
Maybe one day.
User avatar #17 to #16 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
fuk that, I WANT TO SEE
and your full figure of yourself if possible also
User avatar #18 to #17 - sheepyhead (01/05/2013) [-]
Haha, I'm afraid it would still just be me, hunched over my guitar, recorded of a shitty webcam. I have a great mic setup, though.
User avatar #19 to #18 - zameckis (01/05/2013) [-]
