looking through all your comments makes me think you're either a bad troll or just a very, very stupid person.
anyone who'd say an iphone is a superior phone would need to get their head examined.
you fell for the oldest trick in the book.. selling something at a higher price, making it seem better..
really man, you're a fucking dolt.
i'm jealous. really am. wish i could be as stupid and ignorant as you. life is better when you have the IQ of a peanut.

I'd argue that those are very common fascinations amongst men and it is subconsciously beamed into you through the culture in which we live these days. That said I think this is a touchy subject and this may not be the time or the place for it.
Still, you make a valid point and there is evidence to support the nature > nurture theory as there is the other way round.

It's a matter of specifics. Just because you specifically had a small chance of being born to your parents, It doesn't mean that most of the events regarding ancestors would not have led to the birth of a human being. It also gets into this kind of whole "destiny" thing, and that doesn't really equate to mathematics very well.
Essentially, yes. It's irrelevant. Nobody should feel special just because they were born.
#167 - jakeattack (08/10/2013) [-]
I see I think, like each ancestor born passed down DNA, which each time was selected from millions of other sperm and eggs, which could have led to a different path, so each random selection of egg and sperm in each parent had only a small chance of being me. Had another egg been selected or another sperm made it, in ANY of the generations in my family tree, it would have led to a child with a different genetic makeup, and thus would not contain the conscious that I currently call "me". I started thinking this is where it gets crazy. I learned in ap bio the amount of crossing over leads to 64 million different combinations of genes within just ONE couple. So here's the crazy thing, as the tree goes up generations, the number of couples within that generation doubles. So in my parents it was 64mil, then that probability would be multiplied not by 64 million, but by 64 million^2 and then that resulting number be multiplied by 64million^4 then to the ^8 and so on. This essentially would come to a number so massive it would be almost pointless to even imagine it. Therefore it approaches Infinity
Infinite individuality. Woah, fucking woah

actually, a lot of tests on the psychological effects of colors have shown that depending on what color you wear, the things you do, say, and the way that others percieve you is changed. I use the psychological principals of color often and so do many legal officials. Its a beautiful thing.

Well I'm from Australia so we don't get too many dodge's or chevy's. But when I first started looking at cars I was dead set on getting a ute, I ended up with a 2000 model AUII falcon ute, and I love it. most of my mates started off on small 4 cylinder cars like pulsars, I thought they were a piece of shit, so I bought something more powerful. I am curious though where you live what restrictions do provisional drivers have

oh and my truck
#35 - gardenmanly (08/02/2013) [-]
Ford -- Best for the tough body and for the looks, but the engine/tranny tend to fail
Chevy -- Best for the Transmission, will sometimes have engine problems, with a moderate body
Dodge -- Incredible work-horse of an engine, but the body's will fall apart sometimes
So if you can someone get a Dodge engine in a Ford body with a Chevy transmission, then you got yourself one hell of a truck.

Even though its a show truck, as most would call it, I haul stuff regularly. And yes I live on a farm. My truck sees the least of the work, but it stills gets used. FYI it has SLP exhaust and a K&N air intake. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Slow for most, fast enough for me
#36 - Shaostoul (08/02/2013) [-]
All of that stuff is gone. It has a mild cam on it. I built it for a supercharger, but the supercharge was blown up. Mind you, it's still quite the fast car.
It also has a race quality 3-speed tranny. It shifts so damn fast.
Getting rid of the smog stuff was one of the first modifications I did. Rims were a big thing too. I had the original hub-caps on it and them being mint, I didn't want to worry about losing them.

It is so lovely to drive, especially with the super comfy bench seats. It's funny being able to out-drive 4x4 vehicles in the snow and to smoke some pretty nice cars.
I'm waiting till I get a new rear-end to bother dyno-ing it.
I'm either going to paint it blue and have an Atreides symbol on it or paint it some sort of color scheme that'd correspond with the indie game I'm working on.
#46 - Shaostoul (08/02/2013) [-]
My buddy owns a jeep, not something I'd own, at least the older ones. Not really my thing.
It's real hard to choose between the blue and whatever the other color would be, especially after talking with Brian Herbert about my game and how he and Kevin Anderson would like to work on a joint project revolving around my game that'd be a book series or if I'm making enough even a movie or two.

Easiest way to say it is a FPSMMORPG, but I don't feel like I should compare it to anything directly.
More or less the "base game" as I'm calling it will be made, I'll have a story of some sort I'd like to follow, but the players would make choices and discuss what might be cool and whatever might be trending and sounding cool, we'd possibly implement.
Currently the players (when I have funds for a server and get a little further along in development) will be on giant colony ships (similar to the generation ships in Macross 7), and be in transit. Where upon they stumble upon a peculiar system where the game will take place.
