| I heard they based it mostly off of extra-biblical renditions of the tale from the same time period. The flood story is one found in nearly every ancient religion and i think there movie was just a conglomeration of a bunch of them Here's the thing: I'm not a filmmaker. Not every professional is exempt from criticism simply because a random individual can't do it better. I could not pour the concrete foundation for my house, because I lack both the resources and knowledge to do so. That doesn't mean that if it's sloped horribly and leaves the house completely uneven that I have no right to complain; whoever did the job is a professional, they should do their job correctly. #59 -
ainise (12/22/2015) [-] It's 4 boards and cement. It's really not that complicated. Here's a slightly more complicated version. You surround the area with walls and you pour cement. It's seriously not that hard. Yes, you're right - you can critique something you can't make. That wasn't the point. They made a movie based on a comic. You're unhappy with that. Not with the story itself or anything - you don't appear to be critiquing that. You just appear to be whining that it's not based off of the bible. Therefore: go make your own movie. Seriously, anyone with $20 can make a movie. It's not that hard. trillion hours of youtube video is testament to that. Nope, the shitty comic adaptations of important cultural stories and their shitty movie versions were what I disliked. If you're going to base a work on something already created, you should make sure they bear at least the slightest relation to each other. I also dislike retarded, overly CGI'd, effects driven films with plots that may as well have been written by a middle schooler. And if were so simple and easy to execute, it wouldn't have happened that my aunt's house had a foundation that was sloped by four fucking inches. She legitimately could not live there, because of some fuckup contractor. She couldn't do it alone, so she got someone who's job it was to do it, and he fucked up. She has every right to criticize his work. #26 -

anon (12/22/2015) [-] Well when all you have to go on the story of Noah is like a page and a half in the bible...gotta get creative the fill 2 hours of movie. Very creative apparently I believe the monsters are meant to be these horrifying motherfuckers. www.greekmythology.com/Myths/Creatures/Hecatoncheires/hecatoncheires.html They were angels that went to Earth to help the humans after Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden Man, reading that really shows how batshit Greek mythology is. It seems fitting for them to guard hell, though. this is how comic books work they're the action movies among books Ah, so the same method as the 300 series; if the original source material isn't interesting enough, create a ridiculous stylized adaptation in the form of a comic/graphic novel. Then make a bad to mediocre film based on the comic. I heard they based it mostly off of extra-biblical renditions of the tale from the same time period. The flood story is one found in nearly every ancient religion and i think there movie was just a conglomeration of a bunch of them Here's the thing: I'm not a filmmaker. He said you can make your own movie, he didn't say it had to be an expensive successful one New International Version After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. This is just my guess but I think this is the swordplaced to protect Eden. Also. Genius 3:24. #56 -
anon (12/22/2015) [-] This... Most of the shit in that movie actually was in the bible (minus a little filler), and it made people uncomfortable because it was so radically different not from the bible but from all of the other renditions of Noah we have seen over the years with Steve Carell not being able to shave a beard, just as god intended and so it was written. Actual discrepancy examples It wasn't explicitly stated in the Bible that Noah tried to kill his family like in the movie. It was stated in the Bible that Noah got hammered and was found bare ass face down in the sand by his sons, and he banished the one that found him first. (his son didn't leave of his own accord like in the movie) I know people that got really upset about the bare ass thing because "Hollywood was making a mockery out of Noah". #11 -
funnyhat (12/22/2015) [-] Well, Jesus wants to reset the server and start anew and only lets his top moderator in on the gig, you know that, right? So, Noah, as the guy was named, starts collecting all his loot, companions and pets and shit onto a giant backup he dubs "The Ark". Problem is almost all the players just said "fuck it" and straight out quit the game a bit before the server reset, which left the game world with an abundance of high level agroed monsters with noone to fight, so naturally they pathfound their way to the only character in range, then Noah used some cheats, but it was cool, coz reset anyway, kills them all and gets his Jennifer Connely waifu and Hermoine Granger loli characters on the backup and GGs. Like most movie makers, they chose not to read the book before making the film in order to prevent from getting a biased view of the story in their creative decisions. They did get it spoiled that there was something about a guy and a boat so they had to include that in it.

dashgamer (12/22/2015) [-] If you look closely you can see that the walls are blown out. That was for the most part an abandoned area. All around this guy is desert and he's sitting looking off at an alien world yearning for home. The feeling we had was one of isolation, but you're too damned pedantic to understand something so simple. Sorry, I think of isolation as more... foreign or alien. I guess that does apply with regards to this, but when you're tied to humanity, I don't see it as isolation in it's most extreme form. I wasn't trying to be insulting.

| If I remember correctly, the guy worked at a slaughterhouse, and their company policy dictates that they can't take the scraps of the animals home, they have to throw them out once they're done with the carcass, so he smuggled them out in his ass with the intention of eating them. Goddamn, so he had a job, but wanted to risk getting arrested in order to eat eyeballs out of his ass? Surely, there were better alternatives. | ||

Dadhhg (12/22/2015) [-] There were only around 4.2 million clone troopers produced, the empire had at it's peak over 1.2 billion troops on their star destroyers alone, not including ground armies, other capital ships, and planetary garrisons. putting the clones at less than 0.4% of the empire's man power. Holy shit, no wonder they apparently didn't train them. They must've thought that they had enough troops to replace any losses (I refer to this as the Soviet strategy).

| That still doesn't make sense, because there's only one "to," while two would be required for the sentence to make sense. Unless you were joking; I can't tell via text. I'm pretty sure the solution is: Imagine the sky How is the sky Touch the sky It's still fucking dumb, even with that. Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like? The best reasonable sentence I can make up is "Who decides who comes to this country?", but that still leaves one "who comes" to spare and I have no idea how I can tackle this. | ||

anon (12/22/2015) [-] Well, without the dragons, it's probably not unlike medieval power struggles. In the Middle Ages there probably were assassinations, backstabbings, treasons, questions over who has the right to the throne, all that stuff. Yes, the story was inspired by an English succession conflict called the War of the Roses, and other events share a historical basis. For example, the Red Wedding was based off of an event called the Black Dinner in Scottish history. However, the magic and monsters are a major part of the story.

Did anyone get you a designated pissing sink for Christmas?
Holy **** , did you really archieve your profile in one month? Are you online 24/7 or how is this possible?
Huh? I don't know what you mean by that. If it has something to do with levels or thumbs, I mostly comment on posts with around 100 thumbs that will probably reach the front page, so I have several comments with hundreds of thumbs.
I was just curious. You archieved in 1 month what I did in 5 years
(11/29/2015) [-] Hello, and welcome to Funnyjunk! I'm yugiohkris, one of the site's mods(I swear I'm not a bot). Thanks for making an account at funnyjunk, please feel free to post content, comments, or just hang around the boards. If you have any questions please ask me or ask here: /askamod/
Holy **** a mod. I actually had an account a few years ago, and I've been lurking for a long time, so I think I generally get everything. Never been on the boards, though.
Sweet, thanks. What boards are actually on here? I might check them out.
(11/29/2015) [-] I don't know I don't go on the boards very often, but you can still look through all of them.
