The US is, despite recent shortcomings, trying to be a state of free citizens.

The philosophical difference between the two is so vast they can't find common ground outsice of cold trade. If China didn't have a powerful military and nukes, some intervention would happen already, but neither state will risk an all out war.

That whole rating system is going to bite China in the ass. It will even further close their population off from the Internet, and in a world where the internet is becoming more and more important it leaves their population in a bubble. Which severely hurts their international business.
I honestly can't see their government keeping that rating system for any more than 10 years.

10 years is enough to cleanse a major part of dissenters.

Since China was communist when the cold war was going on, and somewhat now because America owes a lot of money to them.

The U.S. owes just one-sixteenth of it's national debt to China, and national debts don't really function as "money owed." Additionally, there where Sino-American tensions during the Cold War, especially during the early 1950s, but after the Nixon presidency relations have thawed considerably.

I know all about that, but the Senkaku Islands alone (if that's what you're referring to) do not make for a hostile relationship between the two largest trading partners in the world.
