I figured it out.
bobtombobbob is a beaner who fears the wall, the sad attempts to stump the Trump is his way of coping with the fact that he will never live in freedom once Trump is president.

I actually went over this sort of shit in an unpopular opinion puffin I posted ( ironically about a week before trump mentioned the wall) that explained throughout several posts why a wall would not be practical. Using your great wall idea which is close to what it would need to be as chainlink could easily be cut at anyone point ( like it already is). Such a wall would need to be deep enough to making digging under impractical ( assuming the illegals are using hand tools to go undetected) or would have to have constant ground penetrating radar set up.

It would have to be wide enough to make patrolling the 1933 some mile long wall in a reasonable fashion, assuming at the smallest some kind of bike or moped or at the very least a enough for cars to pass each other.

Its foundation would have to be such that it would not sink but also be able withstand earthquakes, as at least one major fault line runs down through that area, presumably this could be made easier with sections of walls that are not solidly linked and are able to shift a bit in one fashion or another.

There are a considerable number of water systems that would also have to be taken into account and be able to run through or under the wall in some fashion that fish could get through but not illegals.

The wall would constantly need to be patrolled over the entire 1933 some mile length to ensure no one was scaling it or trying to break through it.

In the end you are likely talking several trillion dollars just to built this fucking wall and millions of dollars a year to properly patrol with god knows how much to repair it every so often. I don't know about you but I would rather put all that money into other things like reducing our debt or god forbid truly making our country great again by overhauling and improving all of our education systems and making higher education free so we can (hopefully) become a scientific center for the world again and incentivize foreign born scientists to come to America, ya know like when America WAS great.

If you are still hell bent on keeping out illegals from Mexico, why not fucking annex the country, take control of central America and make it part of the US so we can have their resources and shit and impose english upon them and deal with the cartels while moving the boarder down to the Panama Columbia boarder which is DRAMATICALLY smaller than the US Mexican boarder

Everything you said is very loaded. aka making things sound difficult or unrealistic when they very certainly arnt (example "trillions of dollars" when its actaully closer to 1/1000th of that or stating that the wall will have the same effect as the fence that only covers 1/10th of the border)
I feel you're showing incredible bias in this post.
User avatar

What exactly would you purpose, a chain link fence? That shit can't even keep out fucking upwards of 80yr old protesters that broke into a MILITARY NUCLEAR WEAPON facility to protest nuclear weapons, AT LEAST twice www.cbsnews.com/news/nun-84-gets-3-years-in-prison-for-breaking-in-nuclear-weapons-complex/ www.komonews.com/news/local/118791494.html

A simple stone wall won't cut it either as it would be easy to be rammed through or blast a hole into unless they made the shit like a fallout bunker, and no one behind it could see over it, it would require massive amounts of surveillance gear to watch what is happening on the other side of it, unless you put the road on the mexican facing side which would require numerous openings to let patrols through, points that could be exploited or even come under fire by say the cartels or really desperate immigrant traffickers.

The most logical and effective wall type would be a rampart type or like the great wall of china like wall that people could be on top of to patrol and look down over either side of the wall. Such a wall would require considerable planning, allowances for variance in soil conditioning so shit doesn't end up sinking (see history of Washington monument) or shifting to much if there is say an earth quake (see the history of the Roman coliseum). The wall would also need to be wide enough to allow patrols vehicles to drive along the top, and none of that would account for tunneling which is a well known problem they have issues with.

Building a wall spanning the entire US Mexican boarder would not only be an intense architectural undertaking but it will cost Americans TONS of money no matter how the hell you slice it. You have to realize that any wall you put up has to contend with very desperate people, people who are willing to give up pretty much everything they have to get into america, even risk their lives, they are ( and I know I'll probably get shit for saying it ) more akin to prisoners, but rather than keeping them in you are trying to keep them out, and prisoners are fuck all crafty, making things like guns out of plumping parts, DIY drugs out of food stuff ( Did some time in a juvy and the officer told me oranges weren't allowed because people were making like acid out of it somehow, could have been yanking my chain but I don't see what the point would have been in that) and countless other forms of contraband in a maximum security facility.
User avatar
#147 - gcloud (12/12/2015) [-]
!? I might be ignorant on this but exactly how desperate do you think people are to get into america? it's not like the walls gonna make impossable to get in here, you can always just do it legally, right? To me the wall is supposed to slow down imigration and to get rid of drug trafficking (which is causing alot of money to just disapear from america).

#150 - bobtombobbob (12/12/2015) [-]
Like I said before.
A wall would be a joke.
There are underground tunnels built by the cartels with rail systems and ventilation.
A multi billion dollar industry is not going to be stopped by a stupid wall.
How the cartels operate with migrants.
They charge them typically around 4-8k. not up front. They keep tabs on family members and basically force them to save money to pay off the debt, if they don't many horrible things can happen to them. They could be shipped to Florida to work on a slave staffed orchard or forced to prostitute them selves out in brothel.
Or they could be sold as sex slaves to some ass hole who lives in the middle of no where..
Something I have learned whilst investigating this plight. People who live in extremely remote areas with impressive security systems can typicaly be connected to something horrible like these things

These people are desperate enough, like I said, to risk being killed either by the Coyotajes (people smugglers) or possibly by law enforcement when they bolt for it ( a lot of these people are also very ignorant and some times believe they will be killed if caught). Coyotajes have been known to abandon locked cargo trucks and leave their human cargo to die, have in some cases sold the people off to people traffickers ( slave trade type stuff), and even been known to take 'personal liberties' with females they are smuggling.

As for Legal immigration there are annul limits to the amount of immigrants accepted into the US, from the entire world, and the wait lists for immigration is considerable, there is also a screen out element to immigration.

As for drug cartels they are the most likely to dedicate REAL resources to getting past that wall by doing stuff like building huge fucking tunnel systems, they are also more likely to resort to violence as they have in the past. There is just too much money for them to make to do any less.
User avatar
#151 - gcloud (12/12/2015) [-]
well wouldnt the cartel building giant tunnels be a better alternative then litterally having the whole border for their option to cross? then we just have to find the wholes to close.
also wouldn't making a wall bring down the efficency of human trafficking and help to diminish it as a whole?
#164 - anon (12/12/2015) [-]
Now see the problem with what you said is that you're thinking logically. In order to hold the properly liberal view on the issue you need to stop that immediately.
User avatar
#153 - arkis (12/12/2015) [-]
both groups already go through sections WITH walls and use tunnels, thats why a simple wall of any kind would just not cut it, it would have to be a big thing or have lots of tech to make it effectively keep people out, trump isn't talking about lowering the rates he is talking about a full on impenetrable defense against illegals.
User avatar
#156 - gcloud (12/12/2015) [-]

User avatar

You rather erroneously assume that he or any president has ALL this power to do what ever the hell they want, they don't. If enough of congress agrees on it they can override what ever a president pushes forth, the judiciary branch can also vote an item to be unconstitutional, even those put forth by the president. This shit is basic, checks and balances I donno about you but I learned that shit in grade school.

Whats more is in all of that I never said shit about trump not lowering debt, I just said it would take a massive amount of funds to build the thing, funds that could go to other things including lowering the debt. Take some time to actually read shit properly before you go ape shit on someone, in terms of your own quote " Bitch are you retarded?" and in quoting myself " sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up, bitches are meant to be seen not heard"

With his real estate background one might figure Trump knows what he is talking about.

The wall has to be deep indeed, but that is do-able.
You can put up a road paralell to the wall and a railwaytrack for a (bullet)train. next to that to reduce costs and enable high speed interceptions/patrolling/maintenance on site.
The costs of the wall is Mexico's problem. Patroll will cost some money, but you already have border patroll cops right? Get a few extra, at least it creates jobs.

Or put that huge army on it.

User avatar
#157 - bobtombobbob (12/12/2015) [-]
A wall is not doable and it is illegal for the military to act as law enforcement in any capacity
Most of the tax money not spent on the military is spent on federal retirements.
Every day a Federal employee works they gain retirement points.
So every single employee working on the wall would be gaining retirement points as well as G1-7 pay rates.
Every single river would have to be kept clean and guarded.
Just staffing the wall would cost trillions a year
It's also highly illegal for state governments to deal with international affairs

I dunno how its set up in Mexico, but in the Netherlands one of the main tasks of the army is to defend the nations clay, and that of her allies.
Another main task is to support the government (can also mean provinces or cities) in maintaining order and providing aid in case of (natural)disasters.

its more than just shooting at commies.

I know for a fact Hungaria has deployed soldiers to defend their border.

So it should be do-able for the US

Soon after because the wall has been the greatest idea in the world we have 0 illegal immigrants from mexico and people that used to be lucky to flip burgers are now only lucky enough to pick strawberries, and because wages have to multiply by 8 to makes a regular american wage instead of illegal's wage the price of all produce goes up and the mexicans are at the border starving ready to start militarizing their wall jumps. Forgive me if I'm just blind I didn't see anything in that first article about him wanting to give Muslims "special ID's". As far as him being open to the idea of tracking Muslims goes. Trump hardly has perfect business jargon, and it wouldn't surprise me if meant tracking Muslims that were potential terrorist not Muslims as a whole. Don't get me wrong Trump says some pretty fucking retarded stuff, I feel like it's mostly because of his "I don't give a fuck about what other candidates say about me" attitude that he has brought to the campaign. Which has definitely hurt him just as much as it has helped. Honestly at this point the only reason I would want to vote for him is because I'm 99% sure he'll call Kim Jon-Il a "little faggot" if he gets elected.
#30 - comicironic (12/12/2015) [-]

Ah I see it in the third paragraph, thank you. I stand by the point that Trump has a very colloquial mindset when speaking to the press. The most notable example being when he said "if I wasn't her father I would definitely want to be with her" about his daughter. For fucks sake man you just don't say shit like that in any given circumstance. Especially when you're running for presidency. Like I said he has a very informal attitude towards those around him, which would usually imply that he either has bad public speaking practices or just doesn't give a fuck. Seeing as how he's a CEO of a billion dollar company I'm inclined to think the latter. Which get's him in a ton of trouble, his campaign manager almost certainly hates him.
