I mean, I have been working with kids since middle school (I'm a 4th year uni student now). But because I am a male saying "I love working with kids" makes people think I'm a pedophile.

I've faced sexism, hilariously enough, at my university fencing team's yearly fence-a-thon. It's half a fencing tournament, half a carnival for the younger kids. We have a daycare implemented so parents can watch their older ones fence while the little ones are looked after. When I volunteered to help with the daycare the girl organizing it just gave me a smile and said "we won't be having any men with the children".

So either I'm a pedophile or I'm inept merely because I was unfortunate enough to be born with a penis. I manned the first aid booth instead and thoroughly enjoyed treating the bruises and cuts the kids received during the event because the girls they picked to work on daycare had never worked with children before.

Oh but only women face discrimination. My housemate is a feminist. I once tried to intimate that being a man isn't always roses and sunshine and she proudly proclaimed "just because your path is winding doesn't mean it compared to my path which is literally filled with a hurricane".

So yeah... sexism sucks.

That is sexism. It's a problem our schools face. I am graduating this year with a teachers degree and only have 4 males out of 70 in my year. That's a problem for society's young male population.

There are some jobs women do better and some men do better. Take construction working for example.

How is that sexism? It's not like they weren't hiring men, my school was desperate for any teachers at all.
