Now that's an American standpoint. Voting rights have been the cause of most liberal movements in our history. The current mexican immigration issue is voting rights, and that's the very reason why Liberals want to give them voting rights. A european's view might be more accurate and more educated.

I have absolutely no clue. Most countries use the "we wuz racist wer srry" excuse. But like, Sweden has had literally no involvement in the middle east that I can remember. German has the whole "holocaust" thing going for it but still that was a different time under a different regime. My guess is that Liberals want immigrants to come to their country so they can give them voting rights so that they'll vote for the liberals, the ones who gave them voting rights in the first place.
