Farthest from redneck you could be.
Lower class gayboy.
Redneck is usually around middle class, and usually straight.

>Redneck is usually around middle class
No. It is usually petite-bourgeois, but sometimes legit working class. The stereotype is definitely not middle class.
User avatar
#81 - heartlessrobot (01/08/2016) [-]
Working class IS middle class here.
#85 - hongkonglongdong (01/08/2016) [-]
That is literally impossible.

Although I understand that you are being metaphorical. What do you mean exactly?

People like farmers and factory workers are middle class, alongside most desk jockeys. Burger flippers, single income families, and welfare leeches are considered lower class. Doctors and CEOs and shit are upper class.
#88 - hongkonglongdong (01/09/2016) [-]
I think we're just going by different definitions. You're using the term in the general cultural term, while I was using it in the economic term. That's where those who produce are the working class. Those who own the means of production are middle class. Those who do a bit of both are petty middle class.

Which is why I said rednecks are working class or petit-bourg (petty middle class). Factory workers are prole, as are burger flippers, and some farmers (mostly farmhands). Some farmers are petty middle class (some of them very middle class), doctors are middle class and CEOs are very middle class.

The oil in the US and pretty much everywhere else is a lot more expensive to produce. Saudi arabia is important because it has shit tons of cheap oil

Be that as it may, the Middle East still has a huge effect on global politics.

For example a civil war in one Middle Eastern state has caused the "Refugee Crisis" that has lead to European states re-evaluating and even changing their border policies, policies the the EU spent years to establish.

#14 - heartlessrobot (01/07/2016) [-]
Well, it was their dumbass fault for letting so many people into their countries.
#22 - anon (01/08/2016) [-]
When you have no borders it's hard to stop a what basically amounts to an invasion. It's like the crusades but backwards.
#29 - miasaki (01/08/2016) [-]
Does that make it any less their fault though? Most know why it happened, and what is currently happening because of it. The EU brought it upon themselves by neglecting shit that they should have gotten under wraps long ago.

vehnum made an unqualified assertion I didn't feel like addressing at the time, but ignoring that it would reduce the availability of firearms. Illegally obtained guns are "lost" and then sold to criminals or directly sold to them (when they're not stolen). It would also make it more difficult to commit crimes of passion, as then everyone would be subject to the same waiting period. Registering the guns makes them more traceable. And while it wouldn't completely prevent illegal access to weapons it would remove one avenue of access, and reduce availability,

That's not really a double standard. One of the points about getting guns out of the hands of attackers is that attacks with other weapons are easier to defend against and are less likely to be fatal, this standard holds true for individual assaults or mass attacks. The entire point is to reduce the homicide rate.

China's markets are actually very volatile and don't have many security measures put in place if there is a huge dip, just today it fell 7% which triggered a new security system which prevents trading for the rest of that day. China is just very good at selling things since the Yuan has devalued recently making it more economically sound to import more goods from China.
Though granted it should be in a transitioning phase since it has gotten stronger, except for the recent news, arguments can be made for both ways of looking at the economy of China.
