Admin has openly stated that he doesn't care if people use adblock, because he makes all his money from new visitors compared to returning ones.

If you really want to help FJ's financial situation, share funny content on facebook. That's how a website gets better SEO and more views.

For some reason I'm better at Falco than Fox even though they have pretty much the same skills.

I found out that zelda is surprisingly good in brawl, I played a few rounds of her against my friends, expecting to be complete trash, but she's got good ranged attacks, her a smashes interrupt most attacks and send people flying at low percents - especially her up a.

She's fun to play as
User avatar #29 - KazumaKyu (09/08/2014) [-]
Well the tier list itself begs to differ with that assessment. Zelda got nerfed into the ground in a lot of ways, really the only thing they gave her that they didn't turn into liquefied shit was her side special, which is actually kind of broken given its ridiculous range. For one thing they took her biggest kill move (side aerial, Lightning Kick) and made it almost worthless. I remember in melee that move was a goddamn terror! Getting sweet-spotted by Zelda's Lightning Kick was just as bad as taking a Falcon Punch to the face for christ's sake.
User avatar #89 - cormy (09/08/2014) [-]
The lightning kick is still there and still strong, just has a much lower range.
As a main Zelda/Sheik user I can confirm that Zelda got a major upgrade in Brawl, at least to her overall moveset if not to any one particular more.
As far as I can tell though the lightning kick is still good, it just doesn't feel that way because of the "floatyness" of Brawl which doesn't have nearly as much acceleration as melee did in 90% of what it does but carries more momentum. Also, the fact that almost nothing interrupts mid-air movement in Brawl gives Zelda a nice edge that she didn't have in melee, she'd always have to come back to the ground before doing something else. Sheik is definitely shittier in brawl though, sooooooo slow... So much tripping. Fuckin' ridiculous. Although if I recall correctly they did fix her side A smash so that both hits would connect more often, which was nice.
User avatar #131 - KazumaKyu (09/09/2014) [-]
As a Zelda/Sheik user, how is the permanent split between the two going to affect your playstyle? I've got a friend who is kinda freaking out, as he mains Zelda/Sheik and most of his playstyle revolves around meshing the two into as cohesive a whole as possible. Splitting them up like that means he's gonna have to reteach himself, since he won't be able to just switch over when a situation gets out of hand.
User avatar #132 - cormy (09/09/2014) [-]
Uhhh, are you talking about one of the newer games coming out?
I dunno man, really depends on what happens in my future... tbh I only main zelda/sheik in Melee, and even then only for 1 vs 1 duels. If there's more than just me and the opponent I find that she doesn't handle aswell, even as Sheik. Because I main her in melee I can really tell what changes were made in Brawl, even though in Brawl I don't main her. I haven't owned Brawl long enough to really have a main, I just did all the Subspace Emmissary and the 1 player stuff. Mostly I learned which characters were good and fit my playing style but I didn't find one in particular that I would main. Kirby is definitely on my list though since he got a huge upgrade over melee and he's always been my favourite Nintendo character. I usually just play on random because I never have a partner that poses a challenge to me so I can win with virtually any character. In the Boss Challenge there are certain characters I take though simply because I know they hit like trucks vs bosses :Lucas, Toon Link, Zelda, Kirby, Luigi and Charizard I think was my main list I would use.
If they get split without the ability to switch between them I don't think I would really be interested in using either =\ Seems like it would make using them pretty boring and ultimately make Zelda an entirely obsolete character considering speed is always awesome to have. Of course giving an extra B move to a spellcaster like Zelda good also give her a huge edge but I don't see that being likely. I'd have to study the new game's mechanics since I know nothing about it. B moves were made much stronger in brawl overall so maybe they'll do the same for the next game.

I'm just mad they made Sheik a weaker character in Brawl, it's not like her B moves are any good (I mean the needle throw is good to bring their health % up)
I really hope that in the new game that Sheik is a little like her old Melee self.
