You are absolutely right. Air will always try to find a place with less pressure.
this applies not only for air but for all particles, whether gas, liquid, or solids.
That is called Entropy. It is one of the reason why gas disperses. Without it you would smell your fart in same place for a very very long time.
speaking of particle physics, I'll give you another one: Bernoulli's Principle: theory.uwinnipeg.ca/mod_tech/node68.html
this is pretty much how a plane flies on earth. Used on wings, propellers, and in jet turbines.

i should add that while this entropy does exist, it is probably the least significant of its twin brother, Enthalpy.
in a nutshell, just remember that Entropy is randomness--meaning how much a particle is moving around and how random it will be due to its movement.
Enthalpy is amount of energy in a group of particles, most likely in forms of kinetic energy within particles. It will appear in forms of heat energy in most cases.

I'm curious. In what way is entropy random? It's governed purely by statistics and you can calculate how it changes in systems. I agree in small systems it may seem random, but in every system we will observe(systems bigger than the nanoscale) there is nothing random about entropy.

I think they mean entropy is random when applied to individual or small groups of molecules. We know entropy of large systems and can accurately predict general behavior but it is near impossible to accurately predict the entropy changes of an individual molecule in the system.
Enthalpy we can predict accurately at any scale of systems.
