Because genetic deficiencies come through when relatives breed you fucking idiot. gays cannot do this even though there wouldn't be the deficiencies in the first place. Your argument is moronic.

The difference being that incestuous relationships have actual medical deficits such as genetic deformities and a huge increase in the chance of mental retardation. With gay relationships there is literally no risk whatsoever of anything of the sort- neither is there an increased chance of successful birth, or birth in general.

But they don't have to have children, and you can have kids without being married, so that's a stupid argument.

If there were no rights for married people and two people want to live together and one kills over, then there is no "Join Heirs with Rights of Survivorship" which is generally what married people fall under who own a house at the time they were married, and that means that every aunt, uncle, and 6th-cousin can come along and try to fight the spouse and kids for the house

Because marriage is not only a status, it matters alot in legal matters aswell. Also, being able to attain a status, has and will always be, a symbol : Disciminating attainabillity of said status when attained status does not directly effect the lives of others has to be considered not only dumb, but also illigal - As you said, its not so much the right to be marriaged, its the right to have rights.

But, the question remains why gay people want to be wed into a religion that doesnt approve of their personal beliefs - But i dont think thats wise to discuss ever, as it is every mans right, to be having whatever status said person wants, aslong as it doesnt effect the lives of others. So who im i to say you cant be a gay cristian mormon jew ?
#21 - Honest question, why should marriage be a right?  [+] (7 new replies) 07/06/2013 on Pro gay marriage comp -4

Why shouldn't it?
User avatar #24 - theantidote (07/06/2013) [-]
Well it's just an equality reason. Why should straight people have the right and gay people not? It was the same with men and women, and blacks and whites in the past whereas their "rights" differed for some reason or another, but we seen how that turned out

that... doesn't really answer my question. Why should it be a "right" for straight people in the first place? It's just a type of status.
