And the only thing elven and glass goes with is elven and glass. I refuse to wear a piece of armor or wield a weapon (except in special cases) until I have the full set.

Meh, I'd rather buy filled soul gems from Farengar than tote around a soul-stealing weapon to fill the Black Star. And, if I'm relying on the Black Star, but make a brand new set of armor, I can only enchant one piece at a time, then have to go back and find another Grand Soul, which the game can sometimes be fickle in providing at low to mid-levels.

Also, still lol'ing at how poor your Fashion Scrolls skill level must be. Git stylish, scrub.

Steel plate armor and elven weapons? What kind of mismatched pleb are you?
And enchantments are completely optional.

Elven and glass weapons go with just about everything, you fashion-blind peasant. Enchantments are optional, but make a huge difference in wrecking shit, and when your Speech is high and you've got a few Speech perks you can easily afford filled Grand Soul gems whenever you need them.

Neat. I heard the missions in the campaign don't give you a lot of incentive to use the exosuit to explore and such. That true?

Also, is there any kind of damage resistance upgrade?

The electrical impulses in our brains are pathetically tiny, and humans over all are net consumers of energy not producers, we in general would take more effort to power than we would produce, especially in that weakened state.
User avatar #18 - schneidend (11/05/2014) [-]
But we use calories to produce energy, which the machines cannot do, so feeding us isn't a net loss to them, especially since they feed us to each other as a protein slurry. Maybe it's not as efficient as it could be, but they don't have any better options.
User avatar #19 - Ninotori (11/05/2014) [-]
We use calories to produce energy which we then burn to make ourselves function. We use that energy to make muscles move, to create products like digestive juices, hormones, chemical receptors, proteins, and to rebuild our body as it ages and is damaged. The less we move, the fewer calories we'd need to take in, and if we took more in we'd only store it as unecessary fat. As muscles remain immobile in people, they are slowly replaced with fibrous tissue that is less vascularized (blood fed) and contains very few cells. So we'd actually be mostly taking in tons of calories we wouldn't even have any use for, it'd just be gone to fat. Basically, we take in things that we use to make energy, but that energy we make is either stored or used by our body, almost nothing is really lost or produced in a way that could be harnessed in any fashion.
User avatar #20 - Ninotori (11/05/2014) [-]
Frankly, you might get more energy out of incinerating people than trying to harvest chemical reactions and heat.

Aye, found a sweet lil glitch.

If you want to do a new pvp character:

-Aqcuire boss soul (Any boss soul)
-Equip
-Do an r1 attack
-Shortly before the animation ends, press X then immediately start
-Use Estus flask
-If done right, it will now ask you to consume boss soul
-Boss soul will be consumed, but is still in your inventory

You can repeat that as much as you want, there is no limit. Same goes for fire keeper souls. ALL the humanity.

I'm level 110 now.
User avatar #30 - greedtheavaricious ONLINE (11/03/2014) [-]
So, my miracle using thief is at level 31 by now and in NG, heh.

Getting there.
User avatar #31 to #30 - schneidend (11/03/2014) [-]
Nice!
Raising your soul level is much more of a chore when you're actually trying. Before I'd be like "Oh no, I'm already SL 53 and I've only got like 20 Faith" or whatever.
User avatar #32 to #31 - greedtheavaricious ONLINE (11/03/2014) [-]
Yeah, I really need to be careful what I raise. But hey, the highest I can go is 130 and still get loads of PVP action. 30 faith is enough anyway if you're not going all out on WOG spamming. A bit of vit with fap ring, pump the rest into dex and stamina.

Hey dude. Turns out that character doesn't have the silver serpent ring yet, but does have the symbol of avarice. I was farming the forest for a while, but got bored, so I went back to invading. I don't know how feasible it'll be at this point.
