It's a sad day when even the young generation would rather get qualifications for their "future" than live in the now and learn all there is to learn. I hope one day you awake from your bureaucratic ways and it isn't too late when you do. Sorry to hear about your dad though, but that guy definitely deserved the promotion more, he was educated to a great extent in a very hard subject.
User avatar #33 - sasorikingofrocks (05/07/2013) [-]
Did you just say that time given and knowledge of the actual subject is less valuable than a fucking degree in math? XD Mathematics is not hard, mathematics is simple. Making sure that every spike is nailed in right along the length of the track? Where's your math now -_-. It's because he showed that he was willing to do the work put in front of him in order to get the job done. lol. And I would much prefer not to have qualifications, it makes you more valuable to people when you present your knowledge.

You can't be serious here. The point of school is to be educated. How could you honestly think it's only about getting a job? where would man-kind be had we only focused on "qualifications"?

lol, you're a special kind of stupid aren't ya? Let me tell you a story. My dad is working for the railroad, and is up for a big promotion, but they gave it to another guy. My dad had been working for the company for 20 years, and the other guy was about 23 years old. So my dad's new boss is half his age. Now, my dad graduated high school, but this guy had a degree, so of course he's better right? His degree was in mathematics. Nothing to do with the inspection job he was hired for. So where did my dads education go? You go through college to learn more about your topic and become an expert, but you go through high school to prove you're willing to do the work required to get the job done.

You missed the point completely. I was simply pointing out that P.E is sometimes the only exercise any of these kids get nowadays with their computers, ipods, phones etc. Most of them don't have the drive to actually leave the house and play a game of football anymore. What you're seeing here is a form of social welfare: make the kids exercise so that they don't die from a heart attack at the age of 16.
User avatar #31 - sasorikingofrocks (05/06/2013) [-]
Lol, people are going to go outside and do shit if they want to or not. And about the whole ipods/iphone/facebook thing. Yeah, humans have kind of become socially connected, so we have to keep a constant link between ourselves and our precious facebook accounts. Think of it as the new food.

You don't go to school just to get qualifications for a job; you go to school to be educated. English and P.E are major parts of your education. Furthermore, P.E is pretty much the only thing keeping children from being obese (or some of them at least).

It has to be the schools fault right?... and I'm not saying for qualifications, I'm saying so that people can pick their paths better, instead of being undecided, and in English, you know what I didn't do? The work. You know what happened to my education? I don't know the plot of the Great Gatsby. I can't find any reason (other than someone bringing up a conversation about it.) that this will affect MY personal life.

You still have to stare at someone's eyes which is exceedingly obvious, there are so many better ways to cheat... Just let them see your sheet, or just write on your desk or tap your foot once a, twice b etc... This just seems implausible because you don't need morse code to communicate four letters and there's no way you could pull of staring at each other in a test.
User avatar #119 - nctr (05/04/2013) [-]
But maybe it's true, it was a stupid cheating idea, that's why the teacher caught them

you'd be surprised at the stupid ways I 'helped' people to get better scores on their tests with. I coughed once during a whole class period, just said I had a throat issue. 1/5 coughs was a 2/6 was b, so on so forth. Teacher believed it.
