they do need to change the law so insurance companies can't up your premiums for fitting snow tires or snow chains because it's classed as "modifying your car" that's just ridiculous

Create work? What, for a few days of the year?

Besides, the government spend a shit load of money on gritters because of the struggles from the last few years.. so its not like they've not done anything.

We've got about a foot of snow here and all of the roads (Apart from small roads on housing estates) are perfectly fine.

Local schools were shut on Friday, but most of the time that's to stop the kids from getting carried away with the snow. For example, the last snow day I had back when I was in school we all rioted, broke out and had a gigantic snowball fight.

schools i know of being shut is becaudse the teachers couldn't get in, they have been gritting and clearing the roads more this year, they've dealt with it a lot better in my opinion, i can drive places without skidding all over the place

Spending money on equipment that wouldn't be used would also be bad for the economy
User avatar #47 - samnoname (01/20/2013) [-]
not really, it would create work, it just wouldn't help to cut the deficit, but austerity isn't going to deal with that, growing the economy is

I wouldn't find this post necessarily insulting, just more inaccurate and misleading.
If they wanted to poke fun at introverts (which I have no problem with, long as its good humor), they shoulda done it more accurately.

Introverts are fucking awesome,

User avatar #41 - iliekcereal (01/19/2013) [-]
Calm the fuck down. I'm an introvert too, but this doesn't offend me in the slightest. Plus, generally speaking, introverts are the only people who know they're introverts. So it's not like I can walk down the street, and someone will start openly discriminating against me. And even if they could, that would mean as much to me as anything else they discriminate against me for (in other words, it would mean very little)
User avatar #56 - samnoname (01/19/2013) [-]
i just get pissed off when people tell me i need to "come out of my shell" and all that bullshit, i dunno i just think this encourages that, i could be wrong

Calm down. I know the difference between being really shy and being introverted. I still think it's funny.
