does your computer regularly have connectivity problems? because mine does, and on regular downloads it makes me miss files or partial files about half the time
User avatar #18 - instakill (04/02/2014) [-]
yes, and normally if you keep an eye on your bandwidth usage you should be able to see it coming then pause the download before it gets fucked up
User avatar #19 - ryapr (04/02/2014) [-]
my issues are mostly with my wireless card deciding to pretend it doesn't exist talked to several people about it, apparently at certain temps it shuts down, and sometimes just shuts down regardless or my router needing reset, cause its firmware is shit.
User avatar #20 - instakill (04/02/2014) [-]
update the router's firmware, a trained monkey can do it

and just buy a $25 USB wireless card
User avatar #21 - ryapr (04/02/2014) [-]
first off damn you are condescending , I don't care to go to that effort atm, and money is honestly too tight for me to go blow $25 on something that is not a necessity
User avatar #22 - instakill (04/02/2014) [-]
alright, the reason is that I am an IT technician who is sick of people complaining about their shit not working and doing nothing to fix it or maintain it, as well as the fact that you can go spend an hour doing manual labor for somebody and get $10-20 for it, hell my 8 year old brother does that and saved up about $1000 to buy his own damn laptop so he could play games on the thing
User avatar #23 - ryapr (04/02/2014) [-]
okay, you don't understand circumstance in the least of anyone who isn't in your position. I'm not complaining anything doesn't work. I stated, my networking card is shit along with my firmware and I use torrents to download because it's more reliable for me. just because someone does something differently than you doesn't mean they need to change. just because it is a torrent doesn't make it illegal. and just cause I don't care to replace my network card doesn't mean I don't maintain my equipment. I had a major back injury 2 months after I turned 17 and I struggle to work my full 40 hours at my job still 3 years later. manual labor outside of work isn't an actual option for me, when work it's self is barely so. and don't tell me to get an easier comfy office job, because I love the work I am doing
User avatar #24 - instakill (04/02/2014) [-]
alright, the whole manual labor thing I know, you ever had your leg bend sideways? no? I have, not only can I hardly move some days, it fucked up my walk so I have problems from my ankle all the way up my back, and I work construction as my main breadwinner, I shouldn't lift more than 10lbs, so I understand

and you should realize that something not being reliable means it isn't working right and needs fixing

also updating firmware on your hardware is regular maintenance
User avatar #25 - ryapr (04/02/2014) [-]
the standard firmware is updated, and i keep it such. but the standard firmware is complete shit. and I agree it needs fixing. there are just far more important things for 25 dollars to go to
User avatar #26 - instakill (04/02/2014) [-]

The rose stem is cut 4 times vertically and yes, roses do exhibit the presence of the Fibonacci sequence in nature that is undisputed, but the sequence causes the formation of the petals with or without different coloured dye. So when the dye is introduced to the 4 different sections of the stem, it is taken up into the petals that were already there. So arguably the Fibonacci sequence is responsible for the pattern of the colours, but only because of the initial formation of the flower.
User avatar #93 - ryapr (02/27/2014) [-]
with some non rose flowers splitting the stems in a similar manner causes the colors to blend or they appear more sporadically or with no defined pattern. so yes the predfined forming of the rose petals is partially to blame, the well defined Xylem play a large roll as well.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation, but the Fibonacci sequence is responsible for the shape of the rose and its petals. The rose is multi-coloured because it takes in the dye through the sections of the stem and takes it to different sections of petals.
User avatar #89 - ryapr (02/27/2014) [-]
you honestly seem like quite the pretentious douche, the " rainbow" effect pictured is caused by each quarter of the rose stem taking the dye through the xylem to different petals, and the petals that receive the dye after the first follow a slanted Fibonacci pattern. thus the multi-colored rose's rainbow pattern is cause by the Fibonacci sequence
User avatar #92 - JonathanNowFuckYou (02/27/2014) [-]
