The rose stem is cut 4 times vertically and yes, roses do exhibit the presence of the Fibonacci sequence in nature that is undisputed, but the sequence causes the formation of the petals with or without different coloured dye. So when the dye is introduced to the 4 different sections of the stem, it is taken up into the petals that were already there. So arguably the Fibonacci sequence is responsible for the pattern of the colours, but only because of the initial formation of the flower.

with some non rose flowers splitting the stems in a similar manner causes the colors to blend or they appear more sporadically or with no defined pattern. so yes the predfined forming of the rose petals is partially to blame, the well defined Xylem play a large roll as well.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation, but the Fibonacci sequence is responsible for the shape of the rose and its petals. The rose is multi-coloured because it takes in the dye through the sections of the stem and takes it to different sections of petals.
User avatar #89 - ryapr (02/27/2014) [-]
you honestly seem like quite the pretentious douche, the " rainbow" effect pictured is caused by each quarter of the rose stem taking the dye through the xylem to different petals, and the petals that receive the dye after the first follow a slanted Fibonacci pattern. thus the multi-colored rose's rainbow pattern is cause by the Fibonacci sequence

Yes, by default Windows hides extensions it knows how to handle. so "filename.bat" will appear as "filename" and "filename.jpg.bat" would appear as "filename.jpg", you can then change the icon to that of a jpeg.
