Although i don't really believe that bit about the ponyfags, i do think that you don't really understand what love and tolerate is anymore. It used to be exactly as you described, but now ponyfags have turned it into the staple response to any complaints.

For example, some idiot decides to post a pic of "his pony" Which is basically a fursona for bronies. It's some black pony with bat wings, fangs, an alicorn and a lizard tail, and it has a red outline. The basic unoriginal emo crap drawing of whatever. It's a picture of said animal, and nothing else. Just a pony with a blue background, and thanks to ponyfags, it has 200 or so thumbs.

Now, someone asks why crap like that has so many thumbs. And instead of a point, they get some reaction image of pinkie pie making a stupid face, with a caption under it saying: "We dont agree, but we can still be friends". In this case, friendship means ten red thumbs.

If you think about it, that caption is basically a form of "love and tolerate" in a form that makes sense when said to someone. All criticism however, is instead responded to with "give the show a chance"

I Dont really understand why what we call OC pony posts are given thumbs, I mean if someone posts asking to see other peoples OC's then sure they might get a few thumbs, but in the actual comment section.
