I can see what you mean but I can also see another point of view, the fact that the cross being the representation of those that lost their lives to an oppressive ruling, is incredibly disgraceful when the group that object represents is working to be oppressive themselves.

Which is why I originally said what she did was worse, which looking back probably wasn't the best choice of words, because it seems like that wasn't something that was running through her head as she cut it down. I think she should have cut down a different cross to get peoples attention as to what was going on because what the Russian government is doing to those women is wrong and attention needs to be brought to it so things can change.

She chose a cross that would actually matter to cut down instead of one that wouldn't give much of a message.

Cutting down any cross would give a message. But cutting down this cross is going to offend a lot of people and turn opinion against them. What she did was cut down a monument that was meant to remember those that were being repressed by the government yes it was a cross but that's what people see.
