If they treat prisoners like animals, they'll probably get out of prison even worse than how the came in, and probably kill more people in the process.

It's simple. You kill the guy who killed your mother and go to prison instead.

If you would think instead of letting your emotions get the better of you then you'd realize rehabilitation will in the end be a better solution.

If a man robs and kills my mother then i'd probably be upset yes but you're only being a asshole yourself by demanding that he deserves punishment and respect with the consequence that he'll go out and kill AGAIN where as when he is rehabilitated he won't kill again.

Are you telling me you are so selfish that you want a criminal to become even worse off or atleast think for a while and realize how he could become a better fuctioning person in society.

It isn't about punishment. It's about rehabilitation.

It actually costs a lot more to sentence someone to the death penalty than to give them life in prison (don't know about costs associated with this kind of prison, but that's how it is in the U.S.) This is because of all the repeated appeals, court bills, etc. that come with the criminal trying to avoid death (they probably can't pay for it if they can't afford bail, either). And what if the convicted really is innocent?

That's the exact same mentality texas has and look at their fucking crime rate.

You're telling me if someone killed your parents indiscriminately you have no problems with the murderer living like a king for 10 years.
