VS and CX series are pretty cheap quality, I had issues with a VS650 and the rig listed before.

ive got a cx psu with a couple of 270s in there
nvidia suggests having at least 500w for a 970, im p sure you can make it work

Yes, if it's a good brand and model. The rest of your system weighs in the equation too, tho.

Personally i have a factory overclocked 970 and an i5 6600k at 4.3GHz 1.3V and an Antec HCG 520w wasn't enough.

corsair psu. cpu is an amd fx 8320 @ 4.0. Not super into overclocking because I dont want to fuck my shit up.
