Fair enough. It's mostly to let other see it. No matter how fucked up it may be, I'm willing to be that you, like everyone else, can't look away without seeing it first. You want to. You have to. It's this strange inner need to know and see what happened. Death is something you only do once, so you're often not going to see much of it. Given that you have a blue name, you must be aware by now that the green thumb hasn't exclusively meant "funny" for years now. It's means anything from "cool" to "interesting" to "I find this relevant to my interests". At this point, we should just remove the "funny" tag to it and use the green thumb, itself.
