You've obviously not played the series, or you just blew through it and didn't pay attention. Old-Dante (OD) was a smart ass, he did taunt the bosses, they did get mad, but it was done with more finesse than New-Dante (ND). ND is literally a child that walks into the situation like an asshole, and not in the "I'm an action hero, and don't care about the odds" kind of way the OD did, ND is more of the "hey guys have you seen me pretend to not care, cause it makes me look cool to all my friends" kinda of attitude.

But that's the point. The new Dante is supposed to be young and rebellious or else they wouldn't have chosen his look. Not to mention the series is a reboot so using OD wouldn't make any sense.

Well there is being "young and rebellious" and there's being a complete cunt. OD had flair and style, while ND has daddy issues and a predisposition to be a complete and utter cunt. It just refers back to how they act in situations, OD would enter into a situation, look around make some snarky remarks, maybe through a few taunts in, then fight. Meanwhile ND will walk in, start throwing random remarks and insults, then get into a shouting match with the boss for 5 minutes before doing anything. it just further proves the point of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Don't get me wrong i thought the new DMC was a solid game, awesome combat mechanics, descent story, not down with the whole brotherly love thing, but god, every fiber of my being hates ND just because he's not OUR Dante, he some little child that just shares his name.

"all of the Battlefield games since 1942"

you have no idea how confused I was when I read this. I was trying to figure out how video games existed in 1942.

does BF3 have the same server problem?

#193 - rohze (04/12/2013) [-]
No, but BF3 does have an issue with its server-side + client-side hybrid netcode. It really doesn't work well at all but almost all of the Battlefield games since 1942 were notorious for having atrocious hit reg problems and over-all general network issues. BF3 does technically have dedicated servers but mod tools were never released (which is a huge no no to do with PC shooters) and you could only get "EA" ones which are servers that EA has approved of, which is okay but doesn't allow for a large selection of providers.

I have it for the PS3, so none of that is applicable to me.
the graphics (on the PS3) are much better on 3 than on 2, and the hit registration worked fine on the PSN servers.

this is probably why I liked it and you didn't.

I've never played the PC version, but can you not change the mouse acceleration? I've been able to do that on literally every PC game I've ever played.

No it was a very bad console port and didn't even have dedicated servers. The reason for the bad hit reg is that as a PC gamer we're used to server side hit reg inside of client side/host. There were a few 3rd party mouse accel fixes I believe but they didn't work 100% of the time.
