i guess it depends on the battalions and divisions, cause mine has had like almost back to back. 2013, rest 2015 rest, 2017. those are the schedules weve been given. and like it sucks i guess, but for me its about bringing my boys back in one piece, so i dont really care, but my girl is pretty fucked up about it.

ok well i cant speak for all but 3 MOS, medics, fisters, and INF, dont sit on thier asses, we all are moving and doing some training pretty much all the time. and again i cant speak for different units but im in 3-187 and ive been in the army for 2.5 years and im already gearin for my second tour. so i guess what im saying is, shit man i think were allowed to talk shit. we train everyday, and deal with bullshit everyday, just so we can fuck shit up everyday. and again im active duty, and im a bit intoxicated so i might be biased. my apologies. 68W.

Well we're the only developed country in the world that hasn't adopted the metric system, our economy is dragging, we're running a deficit with no hopes of balancing the budget in the next few decades and still pretend like we're the best country in the world with a large chunk of our populace being so xenophobic that to adopt any ideas that weren't exclusively American is tantamount to treason. Can you really expect our principles to make sense?

Besides, the average American's principles rarely align with those of politicians. Take solace in the fact that your countrymen support you, even if your gov't has its ass firmly planted on its shoulders.

I use the metric system, maybe if we all start using it we can fix one of our many problems.

What I'm saying is that they're not doing combat deployments anymore. I think the last ones were almost 2 years ago. So I wanna know if I'm just misinformed or the Marine Corps is sending other units. If he's army I have no idea what he's doing.

ok man im active too, and ive only been in about 3 years as a medic attached to the INF, and man i know when i cant save someone, and its a god damn shitty feeling, but im still gonna try. but like we teach in cls, 90% of combat deaths are unavoidable. right? so even i cant save 90% of the guys who die. and thats a god damn shitty feeling. like i cant even help most of my family when shit goes down. sometimes i cant even describe how shitty i feel just from that, but other times im on top of the world just from hanging out with my guys.
