anon (03/13/2015) [-] She was far to OP for the character of even an elf (like the glowing when healing the dwarf, she should not have been able to do that.) We kinda want Elves to be OP tho' That's why they are all tall, attractive and can kill 500 men without breaking a sweat, while also being able to live forever, make nature do weird shit and still have time to sit down and read books from libraries taller than the Burj Khalifa. I do find the "other realm" glowy thing kinda weird, it was in LotR too. It's just to make them seem more angelic, I guess. #179 -
anon (03/14/2015) [-] Sure they are supposed to be OP compared to humans, but they shouldn't make you cringe because of it, in a scene that's supposed to be emotinal. Not to forget that the healing she used (the glowy one) is supposed to be exclusive for elves like Elrond and Arween.  The whole healing-scene seemed so overly awkward for me, I'm not even certain anymore why... I think it was a combination of this white light, which already reminded me of some esoteric music video in Fellowship of the Ring when Elrond healed Frodo and they just blended his head on here and there over some elvish he says... and her strange body movement. It was rather.... "suggestive" for me. Might as well have started making dwelvish little mongrels afterwards. All in all I didn't mind Tauriel per se, but I think she didn't add anything important to the story. #180 -

Standalone ShoC remake made by Dezowave.
It's pretty great, but it feels so empty (not a lot of secret loot spots, very few npcs wandering outside, cheap jumpscares that pose no threat).
It has a bit of custom voice acting, includes cut zones, everything is different.

Tried it for 5 minutes, game started crashing every time I started a new game.
I'll possibly try it in the future, but now I am replaying the classic ShoC, it's so great.
I've already explored CoP/CS and I know everything about them, it's simply not as much entertaining as it was before.
