We get thinned skinned because we are in a constant culture shock, acustomed to an aggressive enviroment, and typically somewhat educated in governemnt/politcal process. A majority, not all.

I've been in combat, you'll be lucky if you don't adrenal lock and piss yourself the first time you come under fire.

You don't have to love or respect us, you don't have to say thank you, or call us heros, we prefer you don't. But when you come to us (you as a country not you as an individual) and cry help us! Make it stop, Protect us. You arn't going to question how we do it, not till mich later, do what it takes, be resourceful you will say. I can't speak for all veterans but I personally don't give a fuck what you feel about my service, but when you need me, say so and stay outta my way.
