It's kind of narcissistic to think we're the only forms of life out there imo, regardless of being religious or not but ya know, whatever goats your float

Considering the staggering coincidences that allowed intelligent human life to evolve, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility than human life is indeed the only intelligent life alive right now.

The coincidences may be staggering but holy fuck have you ever sat down and just read about the sheer size of the known universe?
Hint: it's fucking big
It's not "mall of America" big
It's not "admins dick" big
It's "literally incomprehensible to a single human" big
It's so big we can't actually see the ends of it because the light hasn't reached us yet, at light speed 13 billion years or whatever we still can't see the end
There are countless galaxies, each with countless stars and planets, there is life out there somewhere, 100% chance, not even a .0000000000000001% that we may be the only living things
We will probably never meet another intelligent civilization, but they are definitely out there

I'm aware of the size of the universe, that doesn't eliminate the possibility of being alone if you account for all the various things that could kill life before it ever seriously develops.

oh believe me i know its insane to think that there isn't life somewhere else in the void but at the same time i dont understand why we need to find it our planet sustains its self and will for lifetimes to come especially if we change some of our ways that coming from some one who intends to do nothing to change his ways
i remember seeing day the earth stood still with keanu and quite frankly it scares the hell out of me that that may be what has actually happed and thats where gods and deities have formed

So not the former then.
It just seems strange that the amount of "just got it" and "took me a while" comments just suddenly exploded like 10 % of the FJ population got a second brain hemmorage and just dropped 20 IQ points.
