humble bundle does work outside of the US. Most of the bundle sites do. My personal favourites are Grouppes, Indie Gala and Humble Bundle.

Good site for seeing what bundles are happening at all times

Always keep up to date on the latest sales, from various sites

If you have at least 100 USD worth of games in your library, you can register there and try to win games. You don't have to give anything away to enter, unless the creator of the giveaway restricts it that way. You get 300 points to start, giveaways cost as many points as the game costs in USD 5 dollar game, 5 points Points automatically regenerate as people create giveaways, so if you run out, just wait a while and you'll get more points for more giveaways.

There is another website that is designed to save you some dollars on your game purchases. www.steamgifts.com/sales/new shows all the sales that have been going on recently. I would suggest clicking the "new" option on the top left portion of the screen to see the newest sales because the older ones are likely to have expired. Have fun playing!

I didn't see anything that mentioned regional restrictions, so chances are you're good. They usually give you steam keys and also a direct download from the website. Just make sure that your choice of OS is supported by those games.

I usually stick to indie games that go on sale on www.humblebundle.com/ These guys are awesome for combining charity along with great game sales. If you're looking for something cheap and entertaining at the same time, give it a shot.

But the picture says gun murders

The article even states that only four of the gun deaths were murders, while the rest were suicudes

Yeah, but four gun murders for Vermont's 626,450 population in 2011 means 0.6385 per 100,000 population. A rate is always "something per something", like "miles per hour" or "nanometers per second" or "gun murders per 100,000 people". Because of their small population, small changes have large effects on this rate. If four more people were killed by a gun in one year, then that figure doubles. The US national average of firearm-related homicide is 3.55 per 100,000 - #13 in the world ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate ). Germany's rate is 0.2 per 100,000. You are THREE TIMES more likely to be shot by a gun in Vermont than in Germany.

Vermont's population density is also very low, coming in at #31 on the list of US states ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_population_density ). It might actually make more sense to show that population density has more to do with gun-related murder than ownership. Germany's population density is 609 per sq.mi., a full 10x denser, and still has a lower gun-related murder rate.

Maryland has a population density similar to Germany, and had 272 murders in 2011, or, 4.7 per 100,000 population. Holy fuck. ( www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2011/jan/10/gun-crime-us-state ). I think I'll have to do a graph showing the relations of firearm ownership, population density, median household income against firearm-related homicide so we can see exactly what's going on.

Nobody understands that gun reform isn't about keeping guns out of the hands of well-behaved citizens in Vermont, Idaho, Wyoming and Maine, but, rather, aims to make it next-to-impossible to obtain working firearms and potent munition without being absolutely certain that person isn't a criminal or in danger of himself or others.

It works first of all ONLY if it's enforced in the whole country and checked at the borders. A state can have strict gun laws, but if they don't check each and every person entering the state, then it's all for not.

Anyway, just make sure when you read these "facts", you not only check them, but think for yourself and try to figure out what is actually meant in full context, rather than just the context of the infographic. I could always say shit like "the US had 10x as many slaves as ancient Egypt", and that sounds bad, but the world population was 1000x less in those days and inter-continental travel was all but impossible.

Sorry if this comment was somewhat incoherent; I was doing a bunch of research while writing and ended up writing all over the place. I'll get that graph set up, or maybe even make an interactive website to show what I mean, and post it. Until then, check out the research and graphs I did comparing the US and Europe, the EU and Western Europe on gun issues: www.miketheburns.com/wiki-stats/us-vs-europe/

Ah and there's the problem with some of you people. Someone presents a well-researched and valid argument, and you respond with insults instead of an actual adult response. At least you're being thumbed down while he's being thumbed up.
