Guess I'll start with the time me Codey and Zac were going to watch a movie at home and get wasted. We had 2 fifths of tequila and a pint of peppermint schnaps. We put the movie in, open the tequila as the previews start, get so drunk we have the previews just playing over and over, finish everything off in like an hour. Codey leaves to go to a buddy of his, and pukes all over his house. Me and Zac decide to walk to the lake, see an ambulance, think its a cop, hide (we thought but we were in plain sight) panic and book it to the nearest person we knew's house. Her and her friend let us in, dares ensue and I run a naked lap around a bar right down the road. Now at this time there was a rogue marine that shot his gf in the woods in the area, so I get back, and nakedly proclaim I'm going to hunt him down and get a reward. Someone says I should put on clothes first sense its in the woods. "No, I fought the monster Grendel naked, so to shall I fight him." Yeah, I went full on Beowolf. Zac says wait, he has a gun so wear this until you get in close and hands me a paintball vest he had worn for protection (it did look like a real bulletproof vest) I don the vest and wander off naked. Next day, Zac brings me my clothes, tells me the parts of the story I didn't remember, no memory of the hunt and no one with me, and lost a $400 phone. I have more and can type them greentext style if that's easier for you or anyone else reading these to read

I honestly can't tell why they're so popular.
I like Game of Thrones as a TV show, though I don't know how accurate it is to he books. I would say pretty close, but I haven't read any of them. I just haven't seen people on the internet complaining.
#44 - rimjobmcgee (05/29/2014) [-]
The way GoT went is the way to go. There are changes between the books, but they're minor, and George R.R. Martin gave the show instructions on how to end it if he dies before he finishes writing, so they can't change too much. A show gives novels more chances and time to follow the original story

I stopped as soon as he got to the camp and haven't even bothered finishing it or starting the other movie. I can understand some minor details being lost in the transition from book to movie, but sometimes it's just people wanting to put their 2 cents into something that doesn't need it.

Especially annoying when it's a book being made into a movie, and one of the characters (usually the lead) is specifically said to be unattractive. The actor/actress playing them is always pretty or handsome. Always.

I usually can't even watch half of a movie based on a book I liked without storming off. Leaves me conflicted because I have a trilogy I've reread until my copies are falling apart that would make great movies, but as great as the movies could be, I fear how bad they could be ruined
