Actually, playing through The Last of Us I felt that, during many scenarios there was only one answer to the puzzle being presented to you by the game, and you would die horribly if you didn't do what the game told you to do. Sure, there's a MILLION linear games, hell, most of the NES library was as such; but those games didn't hold your hand and force you to take only a few choices in a scenario.
The Last of Us gave the player few choices, and most of the time I felt a tediousness in the game; too much was scripted and at no point in the game did I feel as if my choice even mattered.
Again, I'm not saying it's a 'bad' game, I'm just claiming it feels more like a movie than a game.

I guess I'd just have to agree to disagree, because I felt that your choice may not have mattered to the storyline (but neither did it in any of those other linear games, so your complaint of "playable movies" really should be extended to all of them), but your choices did affect whether you survived or not and whether you were prepared for future threats at the end of each engagement. I've played the game through twice, and I'm on my third playthrough, and I've used different strategies to different effect each time. In no way were you pigeonholed into only doing the strategy the game recommended to you.
