Modern art is only art when it suddenly gains value. Then it really is interesting because every little bit of work the artist DIDN'T put into that piece, is suddenly worth more money than the thought and effort put into a detailed painting that sold for less.
Gold is a rare and useless, but that's why we gave it value.
People buy this shit because as soon as the transaction is complete, the shit represents the money paid. Now you can bring people into your house and say "Look at all the money I have just hanging on my walls," and you can rest easy knowing that it can't be stolen (because it's only worth anything if it has the receipt).

The Ace Combat PS2 games. The best three in the series, and among the best games ever made for the PS2.
Ace Combat 4, Ace Combat 5, and Ace Combat Zero.
Good luck finding Ace Combat Zero though, it was made near the end of the PS2's production run and tends to get pretty pricey. But it's worth it.

The sims 2 for PS2 was the best Sims ever.
Next to that Sims 2 Castaway and Crash bandicoot crash team racing we're the best open world games ever.
Damn now i also want to buy the PS2 again...

I played the absolute shit out of LOTR: return of the king. Had such a blast playing it with a buddy. That and sniper elite.
Damn I loved the co-op times.

Dark cloud, one of the best underrated jrpgs on the market, wth a very cool weapon upgrade system and the capability to build the towns that the evil genie destroyed however you want and a very fun dungeon crawler to boot

As for PS2 exclusives, I have some recommendations.
I can't recommend the Jak and Daxter series enough. 1 is an absolutely fantastic platformer. 2 is probably the weakest. Jak is a bit of an edgelord and the game is unfairly hard at points. (FUCK THAT STUPID TANK MISSION NEAR THE BEGINNING) but still great. 3 remains one of my favorite games of all time. Jak X isn't a platformer but it is a pretty good car combat racing game. (Ignore Lost frontier like the plague btw. It wasn't made by naughty dog and it's absolute shit.)
Ratchet and clank too. If I had to rank them from best to worst, It'd probably be, Up your arsenal, 1, Going Commando, Size matters, Deadlocked. Very good writing, a good sense of humor, and the guns, Ooooohhhhh, the guns. The Ratchet and Clank series has one of the best arsenals in video game history. All of them are creative and a blast to use.
Timesplitters too. Only ever really played Future Perfect which is amazing. They're great shooters in their own right and they also have a great personality and sense of humor.
This one's debatable, but I really, really like Killzone 1. It wasn't reviewed great and not a whole lot of people liked it. I did, and I recommend it if you can get past the clunkyness of it all.
Shadow of the Colossus. If you have not played this game, PLAY THIS GAME. One of, if not the very best 3rd person action games ever made. Music is stunning. It performs like garbage, but it is one of the incredibly rare games where the choppy frame rate works to it's advantage. I can't explain it but due to it's overall aesthetic, it just works.
Happy gaming dude.

Man, Jak X
I train the shit out of that game, specifically one race type, on one specific track. The Turbodash at the loading docks in Kras city. My personal best is 45 power cells, I'm not even sure it's possible to get more than that. Not going to stop me from trying.
Overall I think the best thing about Jak X is the feeling of speed, it may just be a limitation of the framerate or the graphics engine but at top speed it's hard to even see what's going on, you have to navigate with split second twitches and boosts and so forth. It's fun to just pick up and start playing, sliding all over the tracks and crashing and blowing up other racers, but there's also the potential to get actually skilled at driving and eventually just trying to beat your own personal best score, having far surpassed the AI even with their cheat physics. Feels good to master a game even though almost no one ever plays it.
Jak X, would definitely recommend replaying the same race for two hours while blasting a Eurobeat playlist.

Burnout series, especially Takedown. NBA Street 2 is amazing. Def Jam series gets better as it goes along. GTA Vice City is the best of the series. Timesplitters Future Perfect is one of the best games ever made.
The best part of PS2 ownership was all the off color games available. Mister Mosquito, Ico, SSX, the Bouncer, Guilty Gear, Zone of the Enders, Herdy Gerdy, Maximo, Frequency, Downhill Domination, it goes on and on and on. I think it was the perfect combination of a powerful console that wasn't too expensive to develop for.

Soul Calibur 3 still remains my favorite fighting game. Tekken 5 was also pretty good.
Shadow of the Colossus, somebody already mentioned, but its a one of a kind game.
Also Devil May Cry 1 and 3. Avoid DMC2, it was terrible. The God of War games were also damn good. And Onimusha 3, didn't play 1 and 2 so i can't say but 3 was pretty good.
I loved Final Fantasy X, but as a grown ass man you probably don't have the time/patience to deal with the random battle encounter bullshit. FFXII is still a good game but not exactly a star of the series.
Oh, and Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3, specially 3. 1 is for PS1 but it works.
Resident Evil 4 was probably the best of the new resident evils. Is more action than survival horror though, but still no cutscenes everywhere bullshit or retarded AI partner like 5 and 6.
Those will keep you busy a while I guess.
