 What the other two comments said, plus consider this: Dubai is smack-dab in the center of the Middle East, one of the poorest and most screwed-up politically in the world. And yet, it's one of the richest regions on the face of the planet. While nearby people are fighting for their lives against ISIS or struggling to make a living in the desert, Dubai's building artificial islands in the ocean for billionaires. It's the epitome of not giving a single crap about your fellow man. Most of the people who live there are obscenely rich, and by choosing to live there they're essentially giving a giant middle finger to the rest of the people around them. #91 -

IDK.  The people building them are treated as more or less slaves too. Dubai is a fucking terrible place. All of the worst aspect of modern capitalism jacked up to 11. | ||

amuzen (11/16/2015) [-] one of my brothers best friends mom sent him to the island over where we were staying at the time with two ounces of marijuana and said you can come home when you sell all of that and can pay for your ticket back (a 60 dollar ticket) He ended up staying with us for about 5 days before my mom found the marijuana while she was cleaning his stuff because their family was super unhygienic and his backpack smelt like ass. I think she ended up reporting him to this place called jackson house since she was a teacher and would lose her job over it other wise. | ||
