We don't *have* to. I enjoy having a full 3-month beard. But yeah, most men would get fired if they went to work unshaved.

The crazy ones, yes. Unfortunately that's the only ones that seem to get attention from both the media and the male population. Others would realise that although it is a social conformity & infringes personal rights etc it's a social norm. You wouldn't dunk your biscuit in a strangers tea, for example. Same look of disgust.

I deem you misinformed.. It is not a myth. Population is suppose to peak at an unknown number. If the rate we multiply at continues, then by 2030 we will have 12 billion on this planet. So we really don't know for sure. And your hypothesis (little of a compliment, no offense) doesn't exactly work.. There are laws for drugs do they work in places such as Africa? Cambodia? Mexico? No.. Sure it might slow the population growth but I doubt the law can hold down the growth of the human race.. But I do agree that eventually our population growth is bound to slow to a very safe level.. (OPINIONS ALERT D:)

I guess people see high numbers and expect the worst possible situation. Malthus said we'd become overpopulated a while ago, and we haven't run out of food yet. Places that have famines usually have inefficient or corrupt governments.

But will the rate that technology increases the carrying capacity never increase? I would think that more people would bring about more ingenuity. Although I could be completely wrong and we might be doomed unless actions are taken.
